Yep, same here.
One-Click, I can't tell you enough how excited I am to read the trip report when you get back.

I'm late to the party, but nice report buddy. And yeah, it seems like a lot of Hoosiers drink cheap beer. Lol
Seen that. I'm eyeballing a new XLC.
Very nice Shug! You just keep amazing the rest of us with your talent.
The above is an old thread, but if you're looking for info on EP-47 here is my trip report from two years ago. Feel free to pm me with any questions, I'd be glad to help.

Looks like you guys had another great trip this year. OneClick, hope you're feeling better. We need to grab lunch sometime soon buddy!
Just go. Make it a priority.
I'm in the same boat, sort of. I've gone from an XLC to a Simply Light Designs Trail Lair and, although I have the peak shelf, I'm finding that I sort of miss the XLC's shelf. That shelf on the XLC...
That's very cool! Jared's work never fails to impress me.
Juggling moose poop...now I've seen it all! Great video Shug, thanks for taking us along.
Yeah, I'd like to not clear cut my woods entirely.
I'm working on it Dave. Going to have a driveway put in really soon. That'll get me much closer to hosting a small group hang. We...
Nope. I've been trying to get rid of this tire around my waist and pasties weren't going to help. Heck, I even passed up on my usual cheeseburger at the local bar. I'm a cheeseburger fanatic but...
Every year on Memorial Day weekend my wife and I head 6 1/2 hours up north to a small piece of property we own in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We meet up with family there and have a good time...
I can't help you with a hang spot but if you're in Pierre for the night treat yourself to dinner at Cattleman's Steakhouse. One of the best steaks I've ever had.
I've only been through Pierre once...
Thanks guys, I appreciate the input! I didn't realize Minnesota allowed dispersed camping on state land, so most likely we'll go that route. Looks like plenty of state land just south of...
If you were going just a little later in the year I would strongly suggest a BWCA trip or the Superior Hiking Trail. That being said, that time of year you might be better off heading to WV. Either...
My brother and I are going to Canada for a week of fishing this coming June. Where we're going is an 18 hour drive from my house, so we plan on stopping somewhere just south of International Falls,...
Welcome aboard SykonMantrin. I'm in Huntington, a half hour southwest of Fort Wayne. Most of us in northern Indiana drive north to Michigan or south to southern Indiana. Some really pretty country up...
Motley and dirty, but very smart and resourceful!
What a motley crew that is! Looks like you guys had fun, as usual.
Those look pretty cool. Makes me want to plan a return trip.
Welcome aboard!
Man, I'm jealous. I went on my first trip up there this past June and it is such a cool place. I went in off the Gunflint (EP47). No burned areas, but I had a hard time finding a hang spot because...
Jared rocks.
Spitting down the front of one's shirt is okay. Drooling or dribbling, now that's old age!
Oh great. Now he's got to change his username from OneClick to Willard.
Just seen this. That's sad to hear. My prayers go out to his family.
I just spit coffee down the front of my shirt. No lie.
Backpack is sold
I did my first BWCA trip this past June. I had been wanting to make that trip for 20+ years and never should have put it off that long. It's a beautiful and majestic place worthy of exploration...
I won't know about GT and my work schedule next spring until probably mid January. But a December trip might be doable I think. Shoot me a text when you have some dates nailed down. Would love to...
Stove sold.
I've got this one on the calendar and will try to make it up this year. Too early to tell my work schedule at this point, as usual. Also, I'm not much of a cook so if I do come I'll probably just...
Sent you a private message.
Solo Stove sold pending payment.
Try this again since I screwed up my original post...
Time to clean out the gear closet and sell a few things I'm not using. First thing for sale is my ULA Circuit as I recently got a ULA...
Great report guys! Always enjoying seeing your reports. Aaron said it was pretty brutal, but a good time.
Just me personally, but I love the line locs. Nice choice on the Winter Haven, you'll love it. Shoot Jared an e-mail and ask him about attaching the shock cord to the webbing. I don't think there...
Grand Island in the UP, near Munising and Pictured Rocks. Or hike Pictured Rocks themselves.
While I truly enjoy my outings with friends, I love my solo trips too. But I understand what you're talking about when it comes to getting bored. I've come home a day or two early before because of...
Hammock first, lay in it to see if I got the hang right, possibly take a nap if it's not too hot out, then hang the tarp. Unless it's raining, then the tarp is the first thing to go up without delay.
Think I seen your post on the Michigan Hammock Forums page. I gotta get up there.
It's amazing how cold you can get in a hammock without an underquilt, in 50 to 70 degree weather. That Phoenix will be perfect for late spring and early autumn hanging.
You'll love that Phoenix for warmer temps. Congrats on the purchase!
First of all, sorry to hear about the leukemia. That's nasty stuff. Second, welcome to the forums! Attending a hang is a great way to try other hammocks, see people's set ups and get ideas for...
I noticed that too. Michigandave will probably chime in with some input on it, but I'm guessing Jared decided not to offer for some reason. That being said, I wonder if he'd make one upon request...
I thought the trees at Preservation Point were a little smaller than I would have preferred, but maybe not. I'm 260 pounds, so I like big trees. Lol! Preservation Point is an awesome site. I've...
Fantastic report! So glad you guys had a fun trip, despite the rain and heat. Those pics sure brought back memories.
Looks like you made it work at Preservation Point as hanging two hammocks isn't...
I prefer photos, but it's weird because I like them posted into the post and not added as thumbnails. Especially in trip reports. Just adds to the story if I see pictures as I read and not have to...
I haven't hammock camped locally yet. I usually head up to Michigan to backpack when I go. I'm not sure of the rules but you should be able to hang at a designated campsite just fine. I don't see...
I'm in!
Decatur, Indiana? Not too far away! I'm over here in Huntington and have family in Bluffton. Welcome to the forums!
