Not listed on Warbonnet site anymore, not sure if they will be available again in the future.
I can buy the parts here but it ends up costing more than the price to buy pre made.
I am keeping...
Just ordered an Eldorado and a few other things, shipped same day.
Can’t wait to get my Eldorado and with my XLC I can mix and match to have 4 different hammock setups.
Guess I was just lucky...

Sure thing I will take some pictures when I get home from work.
The hammock colour is the standard green that Warbonnet used to do when they only did green or brown if I remember correctly.
...
Actually make it $220 want to move this quickly.

Warbonnet Blackbird original double layer heavyweight 1.7, only used once. Includes webbing and buckles.
Warbonnet Travel Sock never used, old style with velcro closure on ends.
Stuff sacks...
I find it usually always glows enough for me, but I don’t use head torch or hand held light when I get up.
I can usually see well enough without, assuming the moon is around in some capacity, when...
You truly are an inspiration Shug

I just bought a roll of glow in the dark micro cord to try using as tie outs for my tarp.

Managed to order my UQP from Warbonnet in Bushwack, can’t wait for it to arrive.

I reckon a safer bet would be to simply sell the one you have and buy a newer one without the tabs.

Just finished going through this thread and there are a lot of great ideas in there. It is clear the OP in that thread put a lot of thought into his system.
Not sure I would get to that sort of...
Another great video Shug, it really spoke to me.

Watching with interest, have been doing a fair bit of research lately about ultralight hiking. Whilst I do not necessarily want to be ultralight I would like to be as lightweight as possible, without...
That’s a pretty amazing tarp!!

Just started getting into hammocking, had tried a few times in years gone by but found it troublesome and expensive at the time. Mostly expensive in that I really needed a good underquilt and could...
I’m one for wearing some thermal underwear to bed in my hammock. I find it more comfortable than having the synthetics touching the skin, almost helps keeps things clean.
When the weather is warm...
That’s pretty spectacular, it is nice having somewhere close by to hike.

I would have freaked out when this happened and assumed the worst. I am glad it did not damage your tarp.

That is actually a great idea, didn’t think of using my seat.

Definitely going to try this, although I have got to the point of not having a calf ridge in my WB XLC, i still have issues with a sore lower back.
Will see if a pillow changes this at all.
...
I’m still planning on getting a double layer, will be keeping my single layer XLC though.

I originally bought long straps to use with a Beckett hitch but found very occasionally they would slip. Having looked into it further I found out the straps need to be flattened out after each use...
I think this unfortunately happens on a lot of forums, it’s disappointing that people put the effort into ripping people off.
Just the world we live in unfortunately.

Have been a member on here for quite a few years and it occurred to me I do not think I ever introduced myself.
I did previously join the forum to learn a bit more about hammocks, I generally have...
Personally I use very few stuff sacks, of all the gear I do use the stuff sacks they have are plenty big enough.
I find the biggest culprits for small stuff sacks to be jackets and sleeping bags....
On the website me you can select location, not sure if the price reflects local currency though.

You should just advertise as a wanted on the forum and do a swap with someone, people are often looking to get something else.

I generally do not use trekking poles when I hike. I have a single carbon staff I use instead.
The staff I use is a z packs carbon, might be able to rig some way of using that which I hadn’t...
I have some long UHMWPE straps which I will just Beckett hitch to fixed loops.
I personally didn’t like the Beckett hitch on my hammock because a couple of times the straps did slip, resulting in...
My current favourite tarp unless I know the weather is going to be very wet is my Minifly. This is one reason why I thought the underquilt protector would be good, especially when the wind picks up....
I generally only get up once or maybe twice, the issue I have is actually getting motivated to get out of bed. Sometimes lay there for hours to avoid getting up, certainly not ideal.

If hanging the gear hammock off the side or slightly underneath how do people achieve this? My assumption would be to hang them on opposite sides of the trees hanging the hammock from.

I have ordered an underquilt protector after seeing this thread makes sense for the minimal additional weight

I sealed inside and out on my tarps, none of which have ever been rained on so hard to know whether it was a good job.

Just ordered one from Dutch, I’m not handy when it comes to sewing so thought it easier to buy one. Looking forward to arriving to try out, the idea of having it next to you is a good one!

Just goes to show doesn’t it that some information out there is not necessarily accurate. I must admit personally I have never have slippage with a Prusik and have just used whatever cordage I had...
Don’t you need to use a smaller cord for the Prusik to hold properly?

Have never needed to do it personally but my instinct would be to have pointy end down. Usually I just use a stick for those sorts of things.

A fellow hammock lover I know thought he would use a container to pee in while still in his hammock at a group event. He left early that morning rather embarrassed.

I like the idea of a gear hammock, but then it’s just another thing to carry. I like the one that can be used as a chair, would be good for quick breaks while hiking.

Have been messing around with hammock today and found any ridge is almost completely eliminated for me by having the attachment points at the same height.
By having the attachment points at the...
Based on what I have found comfortable it looks like your foot end could go a little higher.
For me this puts me on a bit more of angle which seems to help.
I do have a slight ridge that then...
