Okay, I have the "old" style and want the "new" style... why... no reason at all. I've set up the stand a number of times for myself and my daugher with no real issues other than attempting to play...
Very nice tarp!
How long are your poles? I have some tent poles from a long gone tent that I want to try to use on my "winter" tarp to open it up like that but not sure what length I'm looking for...
Just reading this thread, again, makes me want one. Nice video, looks like a great hammock.
As always Tacblades... NICE work.
I will have to give this a go when I'm playing with line next.
Thanks for sharing.
The Tensa fits in either bikes trunk and the side bags of both. The 919 will be the first to go. The ST is my daily ride and if i'm going more than an hour it's the ST. I really like riding the 919...
Nice, considered that one myself and still might but with a Honda 919 and a ST 1300 I will need to sell something before I put another one in the garage.
What poles are you using for your tarp?

Welcome to the site. Enjoy.
Why is it every time I log on to this site to catch up on some reading I end up spending money.
Don't get me wrong, I don't regret any of it... but dang.... Every time!
Looking forward to...
Great idea, Been using pillows at home, not an ideal hang in the house, would like it a bit larger. Will have to try this.

I rcvd mine yesterday, a month earlier than was indicated when I placed my preorder.
Bravo on the quick shipping.
Of course I had to play around with all the parts and this morning I set it up...
Thanks for the link, I did see that thread originally, will review again.
Nice work.
You have a build thread? I have one pre-ordered but was thinking about converting a conduit turtledog stand, maybe.
Right now I have two conduit turtledog stands and although heavy and only...
Welcome to the site.
Enjoy and try not to buy more than two sewing machines.... at least to start with. lol
It's a great site with great people willing to help with everything you need.
I have one too. did the RL mod. Works well. It's now one of many netted hammocks in the pile, it has a home.
WOW... okay, I leave the country for 4 months and come back to this thread AND miss the beta testing....
Bravo for working it out and teaming up.
That looks great.
Nice job.
I don't think the eye bolt would have an issue with the load nor the way you have them attached to the ends of the poles, seems pretty stout.
You're right on the attachment of the hammock to...
Is it possible to take that ring off the female end and put it back on? I guess what I'm thinking, is it possible to cut those poles down... say 3', and make the leg sections three piece sections in...
How about just clipping your carabiner to the two eye bolts?
Nice stand, looks good.
I noticed you had yours leaned a pretty good bit more than the original. Did you try it more even or less leaned? or is/was that more of the length of the 2x2s... you did say 2"x2" which is a bit...
Like HikerBro I'm using them on my tarp the same way. But then toss the whole deal into a stuff sack made of the same tarp material. I didn't expect them to last but so far not so bad, I think i...
Nice ride in that link.
My "bike" is a little larger, by about 700lbs. It's a Honda ST 1300.
The few pounds you mention between sub 4 and say 6lbs is insignificant when packed on a motorcycle....
I appreciate your replies to each post.
Packable on the bike would be a must for me too and I realize that doesn't mean backpacking weight is needed.
I hear you on the DIY side. I'm a hands on...
I like it. I've been thinking about a "portible" stand (other than my two conduit turtle dog stands) but it would need to be able to fit on my motorcycle. Looks like this might be the one.

i opened this tread just for the title and wasn't disappointed with the post. You should have burned the yard down months ago.
Awesome! looks like you guys are getting things worked out. Great pictures.
Looks good...
Welcome to the site.
I'm not a huge fan of spiders and would not like to experience anything even close to what some here have said/seen... it creeps me out. I don't mind the daddy long legs (in smaller number than that...
Every now and then move that up a few inches until it's at the height you want your hammock and then just swap it out. She'll never catch on until it's to late!
Nice find.
I found an embroidery needle that is much thicker than a normal needle and has a very large eye, it just fits through the center of the amsteel while pulling the end in, works well... I...
Would have loved to make it, I'm glad all had a good time and I'm sure your efforts were more than appriciated.
I've been trying a blue pad in my double WBBB XLC and like Shug says it takes me a few in/out of the hammock to get it right but it seems to stay in place pretty good. Now I haven't spent the night...
I like it.
I think I recall someone showing this stuff before but can't find it. I'll be standing by for more info on where/what to buy. Depending on the price, it would work good for the...
How long is your ridge pole? What's your ridge pole made of? how is it connected in the middle? I can't tell in the pic but it looks good and solid.
Front Royal is a great area. Rode my motorcycle up there few years ago and spent a few days riding the area. The family stayed for a week but I had to come back for school (military) after a long...
Well done Sir.
I made four (2 sets) conduit stands, 7', some time ago and have tossed them on top of the Jeep for car camping.
I've been mulling over how to pack something on my motorcycle for...
Good video, thanks for sharing.
Looks great. Well done... now, try to stop.
BRO! that is FANTASTIC! Are you kidding me with that DIY...
I NEED two of these!
I don't think my wife likes camocking (dubbed by my daughter) because we aren't "together" (she does enjoy...
Welcome to the site, good intro... Enjoy!
That is fantastic... I just showed this pattern to my wife and said this is my oldest daughters next hammock... SHE is a hippie too. ;)
I'm not sure what my best find is, maybe 9mm. I have to admit I read this thread from start to finish and I now have a few items on my list of things to look for when I end up in the store next time,...
Oh, I was following that one too, I know the wife and daughters would love that. Unfortunately, I'm leaving on a motorcycle trip next week and will be getting back just before that float trip. I'm...
Last night I was napping and did the "trick", I noticed it before falling asleep but it wasn't bad. I also have RLS and for some reason the hammock gets that rolling. I got up and grabbed a pillow...
Good tip, I'll give this a try.
I also get a little pressure on the heels that over time can be a pain. I'll give the "tip" a try and I will also try a little more sag. I normally just move my...
