I use the black diamond down throw from Costco as my summer top cover. I think it cost $20. Keeps me warm down into the low 60s-mid 50s when I also use my 40 degree 3/4 length UQ.

Keep it simple. Longer, complicated trips that require more planning and preparation can be discouraging. Start back slow with a day hike. Hike, eat some lunch, hang in your hammock for a mid day nap...

I’ll take the xlc and the wooki.
There may be small twigs but harvesting any decent firewood is prohibited. I would bring my own. They do sell some in the little store near the campgrounds. USDA certified!! Ha
They do allow fires at the campgrounds.
If you do go to Shenandoah it will be 10-20 degrees cooler than Norfolk due to the altitude. Be prepared.
You can primitive camp there off of a trail. They don’t allow fires though.
They have...
Another option that I'm a fan of due to their simplicity, light weight, and compactness are Hammock Anchors. They came out around the same time as speed hooks.
Bring the bug spray!

I own this one with cinch buckles. I'd recommend carabiners, soft shackles, or some Dutch clips to quicken the Hang/Unhang.
I bring it on a lot of day trips but haven't used it a whole lot for...

Sea to summit single person bugnet. I clipped it to the tarp ridgeline. It packs up smaller than a baseball. If it...
Hey ya'll I don't know if I'll be able to make the Halloween Hunger Hang due to work but I made a split second trip to MMP this weekend. I'm here till Sunday if you need anything. I can check on a...
I wear those colors every day, some call them blueberries. I'm ready to change to the green Type III uniforms.
When we do I might have a bunch of extra fabric in the form of pants and blouses...
I've got some down throws from Costco. I'm trying to decide how to alter them.
I think I'll start by lengthening one for use as an every day blanket. I'm 6'0" and find it a bit short.

My KN16 should be getting delivered today. I wanted a 12 but they sold out during the 50% off sale.
It will make a monster family cover to replace my 10x10 EZ-up canopy while car camping.
Thanks!
I ordered a Noah's 16. I wanted the 12 but they were sold out. Oh well, guess I can keep the entire camp site dry now. This is to use instead of our EZ Up 10x10.
I was tempted to buy a...
I saw this first on Facebook. At first I really thought it was a parody. It looked like Dutch was wearing a trash bag.
I bet if he sold a trash bag as a quilt over cover we'd buy it.
4x6s are pretty popular and seem to do a good job.

Here's another thread that should help.

Great idea. I've noticed these get togethers are easier to plan when the date and location (general) are nailed own early on.
I'm game! Subscribing to this topic.

I just picked up 4 in Norfolk, VA.
I would want more than 4" on each side
Ingenious design! Kudos!!
I can see something like that made with metal tubing instead of wood becoming very popular.
Let us know how it works for you.
Warm, not hot water is fine.
There were some great suggestions posted above. Don't feel too pressured to do too much before your trip. A standard tarp will do more than needed for an outing as you described. A Kelty Noah does...
Great choice for your first offering. I vote Olive Drab for the 2nd.

I use a large storage tote filled with hose water and a couple drops of laundry soap or tech wash. Swish around for a while then rinse with the hose
Price?

That was a pretty light hammock >5oz

The locked Brummell part prevents the loop from becoming any smaller. The bury prevents it from getting any bigger (and coming apart). Whether you use the same hole for the bury as where the line...
I use stuff sacks for hammock, tarp, and UQ. Since I only have one large main compartment it helps finding things a little easier. I don't usually have a lot of extra clothing so I keep them loose....
I just got 100 foot of the green and 50' of orange.
Great choice. I own two Phoenixes and love them
If I was a WB salesman (which I'm not even close. I only own a SF. ) I would suggest sell your girl's BB and buy her an Xlc. She wouldn't be any less comfortable and you'd have your comparability.
...
The easy answer is buy two so you can both hang with the proper UQ at the same time.
Could you be a little more clear what the question is? Are you trying to replace an integrated bugnet on a hammock? Repair a hole? Make a new one?
-D.B.
Warbonnets Facebook page showed their new UQ called the wookie. Specially designed to fit their BB and BBXLC.
Seconds on the 700 if it doesn't work out. Nice snag rifleman.

Awesome. The temps were in the mid to high 80s during the day and low 70s/upper 60s at night.
I used my Phoenix 40 UQ and Costco down throw as a TQ. I also bought a small USB powered fan to hang...
You can use either or neither.

Hey neighbor! I'm right here with you. Wife and I hung in Shenandoah this past weekend. Hot during the day but very comfortable at night.

I've repaired sil nylon by patching it with a scrap piece of nylon glued on with some sil net.

I started with fleaz spliced to my stakes which I really liked since I could use them with different tarps but I really hated winding up the lines on my tarp.
I switched to fleaz attached to my...

I don't think I'd ever feel comfortable hanging overnight in the Smokies without an underquilt. Temps are always cooler in the mountains and can drop significantly at night. I just did 3 nights in...
I've ordered from Dutchwaregear and from Arrow Head Equipment to an FPO, AE address. No problems with shipping.
Link didn't work for me. But. I'm excited to see what lies ahead.
