I modified the hike to be a bit more hydration friendly for the last day and a half (9 river crossings the last day).

We don't sharpen them, we add extra rocks in malign ways. My personal favorite is the shark fin, where you bury an 18-inch narrow rock with about 6 inches sticking straight up above the surface.
