Just be aware that membrane is fragile. It tears easily, and it's only .2 oz/yard lighter than 1.1 silpoly so it's not like you're really saving all that much weight. I have both a Xenon tarp and a...

Some might find that helpful. I've seen in a lot in the armoring cottage trade, although admittedly that's a more complicated field because of the relative availability of being able to find help...
I'm a cold sleeper, I find true full length to be highly desirable for a winter bag. While a pillow or clothing under your head may suffice, nothing beats the feeling of radiant warmth you get from...
Had it out for the first time a couple weekends ago, forgot to take pics. Oops sorry guys!
Anyway, review after twice used:
My comfort margin is about +10 from rated temp because I'm a cold...
Those are the worst lol
American here but have lived in Galway and done quite a bit of hiking and hillwalking especially in the west, so I'm familiar enough with the climate.
Using Galway's climate data for the sake of...
For full coverage, you need a quilt longer than you are tall. Forget trying to math the diagonal, it doesn't work.
I am 72" tall, have a standard length (77" or 78"? I forget) Incubator. This is...
+1
Have a 10 degree regular (non-Econ) Burrow. Can confirm this is the methodology.
+1 to the Ion feels great train. It's not a downgrade in any way from Argon, although you are trading some weight for cost and, I assume, increased durability. YMMV as to your own priorities which...
Took me less than three weeks from date of order to receive my econ 40 set
Not waiting on an order so no skin in the game, but:
I really appreciate the quality of the quilt I have from you, and am glad to see you managing the difficulties of growing a business in an open...
You wouldn't use cuben for the shell, you'd use it for the baffles. Zpacks does this I believe.
Fabric feel: I mean they're all light to ultralight nylon taffeta so they're going to feel fairly similar. The primary difference apparent at first glance without a direct side to side comparison is...
Pics will have to wait lol. Matched set of olive drab outside, charcoal grey inside. They didn't have a problem with special request interior color.
I had a WL UQ and sold it. Suspension wasn't the best, and whoever above said it was kinda fiddly was right. Also the only benefit of 900 fp down, weight savings, is wasted when you then use less...
One thing I will note that I intend to keep an eye on: there were a few loose pieces of down in the bags with the quilts. Not an alarming amount, and I don't think I've ever received a new quilt...
Fabric is pretty nice. I actually noticed a few loose pieces of down from mine as well, this is something I intend to keep an eye one but isn't uncommon for quilts to arrive with a few loose pieces.
Just received my econ 40* set today. Less than two week turnaround, awesome! Quality is exactly what you'd expect from HG. Construction/fit and finish is identical to my regular Incubator, fabric...
Same. Got mine in less than two weeks.
Lol looks like all these threads are getting moved to the proprietary forum
Econ 40* Burrow and Phoenix set? Don't mind if I do . . . no regrets on the full price 10* Incubator, but this seems like an awesome option for the warmer weather set I've been meaning to buy.
Is it just me or do these look like an absolutely fantastic alternative for those who don't really, actually need cutting edge ultralight (which lets be honest, is the vast majority of us for whom...
Got any pics?
I have owned quilts from both companies. Quality and attention to detail is excellent for both, but I like HG's design and features better.
I wonder this as well. For example, it doesn't matter if you store your magazines loaded because it's not the compression that damages the springs, it's the cycling.
I don't know about insulation.
I didn't know that about geese feathers. I haven't actually watched the video, but I've plucked various birds that I've shot before and while I still wouldn't do it live because there's no way it...
I wonder if turkey down is any good? As much turkey as gets eaten here . . .
Just as an FYI, HG does send their quilts out with both a storage and a stuff sack. If you received and HG product without either, you may wish to contact them to rectify that.

My Reapers didn't turn out too hot this year. Barely out of ghost pepper range they felt like. My Trinidads were way, way hotter this year.
(BTW, they recommend making a 10 degree quilt by adding 2-3 oz of overstuff to the Incubator 20 and then including in the order comments a request to expand the baffles to 10 degree. The quilt came...
I would recommend taking this thread with a massive grain of salt. OP is clearly fanboying.
I was in the same place you are with UQ's earlier this year and ended up going with the HG Incubator...
Where's it at?
Yeah what's going on here? Are you setting up a hammock using a pole?
Look at the attached screen cap of a pic of your quilt, the convert. Then go look at some of the other pics. A normal cinched footbox like almost everyone uses does not get full loft around the...
Yes you can absolutely do that. Or put your feet inside it inside the quilt, whichever is more comfy for you. I find that easier because I tend to move around a lot at night so if the jacket is...
The problem isn't just the hole though. Yes, you can close the hole off in various ways. The problem is that around the hole there is a thin area that's completely unavoidable in any design I've...
Thank you, that's what I was looking for
The incubator has a dual suspension system. How is this supposed to be used? What clips to where?
Pics are going to have to wait until I set it up next.
I can't access the google doc from my work computer but someone sign me up for guacamole again
My 10 degree set (the cold sleeper's version of a 20 degree set) is a LLG Habanero and HG Incubator. It was a hard call for me as well but in the end I preferred HG's anatomical design.
Willing to consider selling the vest separately?
I mean, if you're hardy enough to backpack in sub 10 weather, it's less weight and bulk than an equivalent sleeping bag . . .
If your feet get cold, and mine do, absolutely nothing will seal it properly. There is NO substitute for a sewn, properly insulated footbox (Hey George!), and I will never again buy a TQ rated below...
Get a partial length 40* UQ for use in the summer, or even convert a costo down throw to a UQ, and stack them. That's the most effective way. Don't get a 0 UQ, get a 20 and a 40 and stack. More...
Costco down throw? I see no point paying more than $20 for a 50 degree quilt . . .
Permethrin the hell out of your bugnet helps
Got my quilt in less than 2 weeks, awesome worksmanship. Thanks!
Dutch now makes two-hole whoopee hooks that are designed to do exactly this
