That's devotion to the hammock life for sure!
Do you need 28-30 inch circumference or diameter?
Sorry that I'm going to have to miss this one. Let me know when the fall hang comes around.
70D or 30D?
That sounds comfy
You got to try the vinegar based bbq in the Pee Dee area. Best in the world.
Consider my comment withdrawn then.
Nope. I fully understand what the OP was talking about. I advised him to try his non-lay specific hammock and see if he likes it and if a pattern develops in the way he sleeps. If no pattern forms,...
Haha. I'm from South Carolina, so this will be nothing compared to what I'm used to.
First off, I'd like to welcome you to the good life. Secondly, it is up to you how you choose to lay in your hammock and I would recommend that you spend a few nights in your ENO and find which way...
Welcome from Michigan and up until 5 months ago, Columbia, SC
A hex tarp should work fine for hammock or ground use. I prefer that cut since I feel that it offers the best protection to weight ratio amongst the different cuts.
Duly noted
Thanks. I can make it then!
I'm new to Michigan, so I'm not sure how far that is from me. I'm in the Lansing area. Got a travel estimate?

Looks great! I might need that recipe.
I agree with liking the format. Good work.

Welcome to the group. Being a DIYer and a hammock camper go together like PB&J. You will find tons of things to make and try in the hammock world.

Thanks! I'll have to check that out once we get up there.
Haha! Maybe Frozen Ramen or Ramen Popsicle?
Are you saying that you have a sparrow and you want a Darien in exchange?
Sorry for the delay in responding. Tapatalk issues happened. I'll definitly keep in touch with you guys once I get up there.
Hi guys!
I'm moving to the Lansing, MI area at the end of February or very early March and wanted to see if anyone knows of any areas around Lansing that would be good and/or meet up with fellow...
You can order military surplus pads for cheap on ebay and they come in olive drab and tan.
Not sure about by the foot, but the ccf pads can be found for cheap at Wally world. I would just cut it to the desired length. Less than $10 from my recollection.
Did you save big money?
I have a 20 degree incubator and it is plenty toasty and will cover any sleeping area in an ENO (I have a doublenest that I use on my turtle dog stand).
+1 on the tadpole. Affordable and good cover.
Do you have photos of your setup with the extender piece? I'm looking to get something to fit my 11ft hammock and 12ft tarp and the current setup is just too short. I want to make sure that I don't...
Very nice. Camping often becomes something that folks forget can and (as long as it doesn't impact others) should be more common in the areas that we "ignore". Another reason why I love hammocks.
What do you do in Japan?
I like the setup! Really gives you multiple options if you carry trekking poles when you hike.
Do banana hammocks count? [emoji6]
Tarps can be had for very cheap or very expensive. I would highly recommend taking one with you, even if its a just in case situation. If weight isn't an issue, just go to Wally mart and get a blue...
Isn't the US PayPal fee 3%?

Definitely with whites. You don't want a pink piece of tyvek.[emoji6]
Here's some reading and viewing material that begs to differ.

Not wasting water if you toss it in with your laundry. Think of doing that Mr. Greenpeace?
I agree with washing it to soften it up. Works wonders.
I agree with ditching the atlas straps. Grab the kevlar straps from dutch and either work it with a whoopie sling (my preference) or a cinch buckle setup. I would also seriously look into what...
+1 on not stealing the usps bags. Order something and keep the bag.
Yep. Just missed the AHE anniversary sale. I'm sure someone on here picked up one or two just because of the good price. Worth keeping an eye on the for sale section for a few weeks. Once their wives...
Is this part of a hammock fraternity initiation? Not sure that I understand the reason for doing this.
Where is burrells ford? I've never heard of it. My dad and I stayed at Table Rock during February and it is pretty nice for a drive-in camping area.
I'm very familiar with oconee state park. My family and I used to go there when we were kids. I think burrells ford might be too far for the kids. I have a 5 year old, a 3 year old and a 3 month old,...
So, I'm lookong at a camping trip with the family (me, wife and 3 young 'uns) and wanted to get input from fellow South Carolinians as to the best places to hang in the palmetto state. I want to be...
Still looking for some of these.
