Do you think there will be stretch issues with the paracord? I'm confident it is suitable for the job of keeping the ends of the stand together, but you may have an easier time keeping a consistent...
I do. It lets the fabric open up completely, and lets the cleaning process get in all the nooks and crannies.
I wash mine on gentle. I try to wash them all, or at least three or four, at one time.
I've got 2 years left of not being 50, and I am really just getting started. I have found this thread hugely inspirational.
My son and grandson use this one........

The down throws on Amazon that are outdoor rated and packable all run in $50 to $60 range. In that price range you can usually find a pre-made for a few dollars more and save the time at the sewing...

I think what I will do is get one of my less favorite hammocks and treat it. If it works and keeps me pest free, then I'll do the others. If it tends to show adverse affects toward me or doesn't...
I see. I just don't like bug nets. I find they seem to contradict what I am looking for in my hammock.
I promise I'm not being a smartaZZ, but, doesn't the bug net keep the bugs off??
The whole reason I want to treat the hammocks is because It would be easier than treating every possible piece of...
So, I was all set to treat my gear with Permethrin until I read this thread....
A). Now I am a little nervous about it absorbing through my skin if I sweat, and I will sweat, big guy in...

Glad I could help. :thumbup1:
I wish I could hang inside.
That's a good looking set up. You should sleep well.
I don't switch anything out. All of my hammocks have their own straps, suspension and ridge line. I find that it is just easier that way. I like for all my gear to be grab and go.
What is an Evo...
I would be very interested in seeing this improves soft shackle/biner.......soft biner????? lol
nanok,
I appreciate your answer, and it's funny you mention tri loading, as learning about that is what led to my question here. I did some googling and found the term. I did some studying on my...
Thanks, for the heads up P.G., it's funny you mention climbing rated biners. I actually use ones rated for climbing. They guys at the climbing store we went to get them at laughed at me when I said...
Thanks for all the feedback. I always leave my carabiners attached to my hammock. I think I have tried just about every typ and combination of suspension you can imagine and I always come back to...
I just got this particular hammock and wanted to try it with a ridge line. I honestly should say, put the ridge line on, because all of my hammocks have them. It is a length of 7/64 Amsteel with a...
I just wanted to say, that is pic, where ever it is, amazing. What a beautiful place to hang. I apologize, as I know this post has nothing of merit to add to this thread, I just wanted to comment on...
Oh it will not go unused. It will more than likely see more use than the one I buy. Like I said, the only time I'm hammocking in anything close to bad weather is on hunting trips. The better 3/4's...
I think, in the hear and now, I am going to relegate this tarp to fair weather duty. We are fair weather outdoors people as it is. We may overnight on an easy trail, if we are already on a camping...
It was silicone waterproofing spray. I just found it odd that in a steady/hard rain, there were no drips, just a mist. I may just replace it with a commercially made one. The $40/$45 I would spend...
My tarp is a DIY 12x10 made of 1.1 oz nylon fabric that I waterproofed with about 6 cans of spray waterproofing. and then used seem seal on the center (ridgeline) seam. I was laying under it a couple...
I have ordered mine from Ripstop by the Roll. They seem to have the best prices I can find.
