I’ll take it.
I’m a lefty and sleep either way. Usually both ways in a single night. Either on my back or side, doesn’t seem to matter, face into the fabric or not.
I sleep nightly in a hammock for several...
Besides the shoulder squeeze, they’re also cold. They would benefit from a small underquilt. I’ve used one for deer hunting for a past few years, but I hook a jacket to the outside of it.
Last...
I’ll take it.
I have one also I would sell. Message me if you’re interested.
They’re simple to take apart, I use the factory swaged connections all the time without issue.
Congratulations! That’s one heck of a trip in that amount of time.
I spend quite a bit of time in the West Canadas, it’s always an adventure. I was at Spruce Lake fishing the last week of...
I am your size and I have both a Haven XL and a Townsend Luxury Bridge. For me, I like the lux bridge much better. The biggest downfall for the Haven IMO, is it’s super noisy if you toss or turn,...
Spandex….. Here’s an old thread with the same concept.

I agree about the noise, it’s so bad I stopped using mine. The comfort is great, but I’m a light sleeper and the noise wakes me with the slightest move.
Great for lounging, but for me, not for...
Those clips are unnecessary. I’ve never used mine.
I was cold from the sides on a 25 deg night. Definitely need more side coverage from my top quilt in the Amok. The winter light pad was good, but I was nowhere near the comfort rating, so it was...
I’ve been sleeping every night in a hammock for the last 5 years. I always had issues with my back, but I seldom do anymore. Now, when I get back pain, I can almost always point to a certain...
I just got a big mostly cotton Brazilian from Amazon. I’m bringing it in and out. It’s plenty big and wide, and the fabric is plenty thick for kids and stuff.
I used the Bic pattern and I think it needs to be widened at least. If I were make another one I’d make the whole thing 10% bigger all around
Ideal hang for an indoor hang is whatever you feel comfortable with. I like to be able to stand right up, so I made my heights suitable fo that. Find a height you like outdoors, measure what that...
I’ve been hanging indoors using corners for years without any issues. I used 4” wood screws to mount my hangers into the studs. It has not moved a bit and I use them nightly.
I got cold on the sides with a regular width top quilt. It’s almost like ground sleeping in that respect..
Welcome from another upstater, and good luck in your adventure. I keep some bees in the northern Catskills, in Rensselaerville.
I also have a 13’ Roman Venture. I’ve had it up in my backyard everyday for the past 3 summers. It hasn’t torn or leaked in all that time, and I’ve left it out in some real bad wind.
I am the same.... upside right, right side down, head whichever way, I like them all.
I have a Hammockgear Econ Incubator 10 deg, regular length, I would sell for $140 plus shipping from NY.
I’ll take it please
I’ll take it please.
I use a piece of guitar string. G, or B, Not sure which, one of the high unwound strings.
I sleep every night in a gathered end. No asym though.
Like above, I sleep on both sides. Right shoulder down is head right, left shoulder down is head left. On my back, either way, I don’t care.
I made one of these also, it’s a nice project. I would make it a touch wider then the plan if I did it again.
I’ve used mine with a Phoenix and a DIY Costco quilt without issues. Quilt placement...
You must have had beautiful weather in the high peaks this week.
I just washed my nightly sleeper. I don’t fold, I just bunch. One end I bunched from one side all the way to the other. The other end I folded the hammock in half so the edges were even, then...
I like learning new things, sewing was a new thing.
I’m not a designer, but I can follow directions and make things.
I’ve made furniture, bows and arrows, guitars, fishing rods, golf clubs,...
What do you think the fill power of the down was compared to the advertised FP?
I’ll take the go lite please.
Head left, head right. Feet higher, level. Left side, right side. Bridge, GE. Short, long, wide. Still or swaying. None seem to matter to me.
It seems I’m greatly in the minority here. And...
I’ll take it all please.
I sleep inside every night with an underquilt up until around 70 deg. Anything less can be chilly, for me.
I have a full width Robic xl hammock. I really only need about 2/3rds of it.
Wide hammocks also have a deep middle if you get the edges too tight. Kind of hard to get out of.
I’ve been using mine every night since the pre-sale webbing was shipped. I tied a simple overhand knot for my loop, and tied a becket hitch on the hammock side.
No issues at all with the webbing....
My net is made from Tulle. It’s cheap and super light, but not very durable.
Still, I like it, and you can get the fabric in 108” wide, so with only two seams, you can make your net.
I used to make and hunt with wooden bows as a hobby. The (IMO) best bow wood is Osage.
Where I live there is No-Osage.
I sleep every night in a hammock and I use the same thing for a pillow. Seems to be just right.
I don’t like the deepness of the hammock with the wide fabrics, especially if you tighten the edges at all. It feels like getting out of a hole.
I changed the whipping to loosen the edges a bit,...
That’s basically the loop I was thinking of.
Bring a headnet.... and a spare...... and a spare spare.
West Canada Lakes Wilderness area has plenty of trails, will be fairly secluded if you stay away from the Cedar River Flow area.
You could build yourself a nice loop trail, depending on where you...
I think you could get an oz in easily.
This is what I did. Tare the scale to zero, stuff the down into a tube with screen on one end. Once I had the right amount (weight) for a baffle, I blew the down out of the tube into the chamber.
...
Seam ripping tip. Cut at each end of the 5” square, pull out one long thread every 5”.
It doesn’t work every time, but it’s pretty good. Sometimes you can do 10” at a time.
I used the same down for my quilt. I thought it lofted as expected.

That’s clearly a mermaid stand.
I’m one of the wool guys. I know where the best berry patches are and when to get them. I can find good mushrooms almost all year. I like getting my own meat. I know where the best red osier is...
