Did i hear Doogie right? He's bringing steaks for this affair??
NICE !
Chess, at least it wasn't possums, that night.
Yikes! You've got the zany adventures that most of us only DREAM of.
I've been 220, with the XLC, and just couldn't get the right lay on it.
Brandon took it back, and sold me a new double layer ridge runner in its place. Night and day! What a difference.
Like Rex...
Have to concur with trail slug.
The ridgerunner is a my simple, go-to, back or side sleep hammock. I can usually always count on a good nights rest. 8 or 10 hours worth.
I'm enjoying a...
Thanks for sharing that !
Hi, Dr. SM.
I use the rubber bands in winter, and two slightly longer chunks of shock cord, like you suggested, to vent in warmer temps.
Works great.
ps.... please share some pics of your new...
Thanks for the report, Mark.
I've done summer camping, from VA on up to NY, for so many years, I'm kinda used to the heat and bugs.
Like MI dave, and gggeek, we either camp by the water, or up...
Sure, FJR. It was fun doing it.
Kinda spooky, though, at 5:06, in the video...
Looks like the alter-ego, EVIL ed lee comes out, right there.
(check out the eyes...)
Zilla, I must have missed it, there at the hang, but that photo of the brown branch-brown leaf quilt is just beautiful!
What a PRETTY pattern.
Might have to talk to Paul and Missy, about a Summer...
Not the official shot, but in my video, the official group is there, towards the end of it, just prior to the RAFFLE.
That way, you can hear the official chatter from the official rabble. Enjoy!...
HEY !!!
I saw that identical spider, thursday, the first night.
He was OWNING that sink!

2017 SPRING MAHHA HAMMOCK HANG.
Group photo shoot, gear raffle, weather, campfire, continuous loop, friends and fun.
Enjoy!
VIDEO of spring MAHHA, 2017. A good weekend on all counts.
Thank you Dutch and Adam and Donna and Kevin and ALL the great folks that made the hang possible.
Also, Thanks to dog whisperer, for...
Hi, Christine. TZ Brown did all the work on those fine machines, new belts, cleaning, whatever they required. Maybe you can pm him a pic, when you make something on it.
Regards, Ted and Patti
Hope you can make it for some of the fun, Chesapeake.
We are 30 mile from Carlisle. Almost there!
PioneerPatti just mentioned she's got a new big tarp, and a new under quilt from Arrowhead Equipment, for her ridgerunner hammock. ( She's just thinking out loud, and getting excited about the hang....
They're both 13's. Hers is just huge.
I wondered if any gram weenies got anything out of this idea??
Shug's got a pretty sharp video, demoing the Wooki.
Check it out.
Sure thing, Burg.
If she got a couple 6' tall poles to go with it, I imagine PORCH-MODE would look pretty amazing, too.
You're quite welcome. See you in a few days, at the big shindig.
;)
... plus the heavier cordage is easier on old fingers.
My wife is running with zing it, 'cause of the lightweight, for backpacking.
Others of us will always, inevitably choose the overkill-heavier stuff, like 850 para cord....
Maybe we believe we'll...
Thanks, Sloanie.
I'm noticing that the still photos seem to show cleaner, sharper lines, than the early video parts do.
( that was from when Patti set it up, her first day. What can I tell ya... ...
Originally, I was just tying them outside the Winterdream, to the far end door, see # 1:44 on the vid:

I use "side-clips" that Dutch sells. I suppose mitten hooks...
Demo video of my wife's tarp. She wanted more privacy, so we went the UGQ custom route.
Paul and Missy, at underground quilts added two ceiling loops, for lighting, an additional stake out point...
Glad you'll be doing a class, Dutch. Patti and I both enjoyed last year's.
Regards.
Ted
Yard tested my tarp, today. Have to do a gear sort/check, this week...
Jazzed about getting out there.
:shades:
Great video, Jellyfish! Forwarding it to my Mrs, now. (she's stuck on a beach in florida. Poor girl...)
Is it possible you will be bringing your dutch oven to the MAHHA, in a couple weeks? I'd...
Wow! Nice looking pattern on that camo, Zilla.
I think Zilla is falling down on the job, do I will start the countdown, for him:
20 more days to MAHHA !
That looks almost like my olive wd.
Nice!
No worries, Demeter. You're in.
Congratulations, you two.
Many happy years to you!
Good tip, FJR. That sounds doable.
Ted
Kroma, I just get all warm and fuzzy, thinking about my ridgerunner.
My blackbird XLC just kept me all squoze, and getting only a few hours sleep, at a time. With my RR, I zonk out for usually...
Because of an ouchy incident in 2016, I have a new philosophy about hammock carabiners:
Don't use a 2 dollar wal-mart carabiner on a $200 warbonnet hammock.
Spend a few extra dollars for the...
Hi, Mark.
Hang the ridge line, LOOSELY stake the tarp, install the internal poles, then readjust the stakes down tightly. At this point, you should be able to snap the two doors shut with the 12...
+1
Paul that looks excellent!
Congrats on the winter dream. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it.
My Mrs. got Paul and Missy to put one together for her, with an extra 3120 square inches of fabric.
It is just plain huge, WITHOUT...
Great video. I was right there with you, shivering.
That's the way a good story, well told, will affect you.
Thanks for sharing!
Ted
from my camping / hiking experience, NJ, PA, NY, VT, VA, MD, WV, TN, and KY all seem to have plenty
of suitable trees to select from. Just thinking out loud, but you might want to start a separate...
Naw... It's designed correctly. The Lynx fits fine.
Perhaps I worded that, poorly. I was just remarking that the Lynx does NOT come up above the sides like a typical quilt would, on a gathered...
Thanks for that, Shug. That Hickery's a fun character, for sure.
Welcome, Jen.
Hope you can make it out to the MAHHA, in April.
Lots of do it yourselfers, there.
Welcome, from West Jersey!
Thanks, G2.
I needed that.
Hahaha
Had the hundreds spent. Had the new XLC dl. Had the new Superfly.
Had the shoulder-squeeze. Had the sleepless nights.
Then I got the Ridgerunner. Bingo!
Problem solved.
Hawk hanger, I noticed the ceilings are angled, indicating an upstairs storage area.
The heat rising up there probably helps things, too! Smart.
