I recently moved to the Capital district and would love to discover the ADKs more - a hang anytime other than Mid-January to April 15 would be great (yeah, I do taxes :-)

Thanks - one thing I forgot was I used the Dutch quilt liner the whole trip. Added warmth at the beginning and there were many nights at the end that I didn't pull the TQ on at all.
As for trip...
So I completed my thru hike a couple of weeks ago. The setup I ended up with, and it all worked out great.

Dutch- the timing was perfect and I got my sidecar shortly before leaving for my AT thru. I’m almost to Tennessee and it’s a game changer. It’s so nice to have everything I need for the night all...
That’s me!
I too was lead to the light through REI. I bought an Eno as an Xmas present to myself a few years ago.I spent the winter watching Shug videos and reading on here, and by the time it was warm enough...
I used mine a couple of years ago on the AT in MA early July. Stayed one night at Shaker campsite and the bugs were out in full force. I didn’t have any bug issues.
That being said, I’m taking my...
Dutch, you’re killing me. I leave in 34 days on my AT thru and thought I had all my gear dialed in, then I get an email about the sidecar. Arrggg, just have to order one when I get home.
Argon 1.6 netless and new wall anchors ordered to start sleeping in a hammock at home - at least until February when my Chameleon hits the trail with me on an AT thru.
Thanks Dutch for the sale and...
Thanks for the write up & congrats on Your hike.
I'm heading out from Springer in Feb 2018. One thing you mentioned I'm going to rethink. I've got the cuben sleeve on my HG cuben w/doors, but might...
I'm going to be starting an AT thru next February. I've got a WB Yeti and plan on carrying my Neoair short with me in case I want to stay in a shelter.
I've been looking at the Incubator 10 degree,...
Has anyone else thought the 15' straps that came with the Chameleon are too long? Last weekend I figured with the longer straps I could use some trees that were further apart, but no way could I get...
Had a great night in my Chameleon last night in Harriman State Park NY. Love it!149769
#222 - Arrived Friday, but so far only able to 'hang' it in my living room. I Got the gear loft attached super easy thanks to the video. I'm loving the colors (Brilliant Blue with Red cover)
Now I...
I'm 222, so it should be soon! I can't wait!
Right now I'm using the Zpacks Arc Haul & very happy with it - so that will probably what I'll be using.
Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll get a zero set and plan on mail drops for my other kit as it warms up.
I'm planning an AT hike in the next couple of years starting mid February most likely. I know this year seems to be especially cold and snowy.
I have a 20 Burrow and 3 season Warbonnet Yeti. I'm...
I'm with tollermama - I use a pee bottle when I have to tent. But in the hammock I just get out, pick a corner and use my pstyle and a wet wipe.
I don't think I have to pee anymore than usual (except...
I used my Halfwit for a week last July in MA and was fine and it was very buggy. I had a 40 TQ, temps in the 50-60 at night and didn't need to vent so it was okay. That said, I'm planning on using...
I've been hammocking for two years and have become addicted. The Dutch Chameleon will be my third.
When going motorcycle camping with other female riders I've tried to get them to convert,...
#222 - guess I'm showing my age that I immediately thought of the TV show Room 222 when that number came up. Now time to think about colors and file for my tax refund to pay for this.....
I was motorcycle camping for years when a fellow rider friend started posting pics of his hammock set up. As I'm getting up there in years, sleeping on the ground wasn't the best experience, so I...
I've been checking the site for weeks with anticipation. Looks like I'll be able to fill my pack and checkout my order soon.
I'm a motorcycle camper and a backpacker. I started with a Warbonnet Blackbird and Superfly, and that combo will continue to be my moto setup. Weight isn't an issue on the bike. I started with a pad...
I just tried out my Halfwit for the first time Friday night. Great nights sleep and given there were so many bugs for April in NJ I had no bug problems.
My Blackbird will now be my motorcycle...
I'm new to hammocks this season, but loving my WBBB & Superfly. July 4th weekend I was in the Berkshires and it dropped into the 40's - my thermarest and 45 sleeping bag weren't cutting it.
I've got...
