Folks,
In just about two weeks, knees willing and the creek don't rise, I'll start a LASH of the AT, starting on the approach trail at Springer Mountain.
I've geared up for the anticipated...
Sold pending arrangements! Thread will be closed once the sale is final.
This fabulous camo DCF tarp is 11 feet long, has doors, does not include lines, made by HG. I bought this years ago and it spent five days with me on the AT (mostly Maryland, as I recall), then I put...
from handling the nemo (200+ bucks, less than a pound for a regular length, R4.2) and from reading reviews of same I'd say this ultralite type still vulnerable to the sharp look ;) The one I had...
Rolling works! Hammock Forums once again for the win!
No, just the Nemo inflatable. R 4.2 all on its own, was perfectly comfortable, no idea why I couldn't sleep. Just couldn't. Tried different inflation levels. :: shrug ::
Super spoiled by...
Tried the NEMO, which at 15 oz is an amazing piece of technology, but three nights running could not fall asleep, and this inside, on a carpeted floor. Returned it. Will carry some super old foam pad...
I'll try this; wind and no snakeskin = PITA.
Ditto, he said, adding a dialog tag to his one word question in order to meet the posting minimum word count. Ditto.
I use snakeskins on my non-DCF tarps, but have not found snakeskins work well with DCF, or as we old timers still say, cuben. Folding those things seems to be the way to go. . . .
This is excellent news, and frankly what I hoped to hear.
There's a current hammocker posting nearly daily on YouTube who posted a wide-eyed "the wind was too strong!" video, but from what I...

Excellent work, thanks for sharing

Oops, sorry I missed your note until just now. I think the answer is "D rings"--there are attachment points for lines in all the usual places, plus pull-outs. I can take an up close shot of the...
Lots of views, no takers, lowering price to 330 American smackers. I haven't found the stuff sack, as I mentioned in the original post, I don't remember if there was one for sure...still looking,...

Sold to Salt, pending satisfactory arrangements! Thanks, Salt.
Used on one cold snowy night, and set up once in the yard, this work of Dutch's art can be yours for 60 bucks, shipped in the continental USA.
This is a 10 foot long sock as per Dutchware's site,...
I know everyone has (not) been holding their breath for an update on this Terribly Important Sock Length Conundrum. And the answer to the riddle is...
Yes, a 10 foot long sock is more than a foot...
Are these WB socks actually those lengths? I'm using a sock by another manufacturer and it appears to be significantly longer than it needs to be. I am about to try it out in windy cold winter...
zowie that is some great photography, well done and thanks for sharing
...but the additional length doesn't impact the girth of the sock. The ten footer I have could be two feet shorter, same girth...no? I'm trying to figger this out...
So I got myself a nice vented winter sock, but it was made to 11 foot length instead of 10 as ordered. No problem, the maker made and sent me a 10 footer before even receiving the too-long one back...
EDIT: never mind.
Looking forward to some Georgia Mountains late winter/spring 2023, considering as a consequence a Hammock Sock. I reviewed sundry HF posts, see a couple of candidates (Dutchware, Warbonnet), noted...
Did the same thing, but in my case the little loop broke, not the wee carabiner, and my thought was "that was designed to fail when StupidUser sits in the **** UQ by mistake at 3AM" had time to think...
What kind of tarp? Hammock-specific or otherwise?
could be a non-hammock tarp--it would serve as a single point of support for a bug net, though it isn't on the ridgeline and so not right above...
I think we probably have a winner here. The loop is near but not on the centerline, near one end of the tarp. There aren't two, but it would, as someone else suggested via email, serve as a place to...
can this be done with just one loop on the inside?
I'm sure if I went full Google History I could find some old sales copy, but it is more fun to ask here.
Got a new to me 10' Cuben fiber tarp with doors. Stringed it up, did a full inspection,...
An eagle-eyed forum reader offered me one; I'm sitting under it now. Love the length. 189415
anyone know of a 10' long cuben or what the kids are calling DCF tarp with doors? All I see around are 11' versions (including the one I own).

The ATC ran a social media campaign that solicited these...
Sorry to hear the grove at Pine Grove is no more (or not what it was, apparently). This looks like a great hang coming up!
Is there a big thread on here somewhere (long time member, far from regular user/reader) about why no Pine Grove? Not complaining--the park is nice! been through there on an AT section hike--just...
Everybody sends Dutch messages, he never clears 'em out ;)
Nice!
Whenever I've played with the tarp pic designer it comes out weird, looks like you have the knack ;)
Gooooood tarps, they make 'em fast! :)
Yes, haven't sold the DCF w/doors I tried (yet) but while it kept me dry during torrential rain one night the width was such I couldn't deploy UQ due to splash (I sat on my sitpad and just wrapped up...
While many report success, consider also the lifetime of this hammock--the fabric strength will only diminish with exposure to sun, body oils, wear & tear. Perhaps you'll get more life out of the...
Ah, I see. I was thinking of line bling and the small loops of wossname elastic cord I use to help with tension, and in the case of the pictured Superfly, mesh snakeskin. I see someone has posted...
d'aw, thanks Dutch! I was just checking here to make sure I wasn't out of touch with stuff sack reality ;)

It's a lovely Brick Red :)
For comparison, my Superfly goes in a stuff sack roughly double the size and is definitely full with lines (not stakes! no no no no stakes) (no stakes ;) )...
Uh, what crazy person would put their stakes in with their tarp? Stakes go in a whole 'nother container.
Every other tarp I've had came with a stuff sack with enough room for the tarp itself and...
Got a Xenon .9 custom tarp--10' and one pull out, so not very customized. Made super fast and shipped likewise. But the stuff sack seems pretty small--folded and new from the shop there was a little...
I ordered a slightly customized tarp last night. Maybe 14 hours later, it shipped.
!!! ??? !!!
Now that is speeeeeedy.
Thanks Dutchware crew!
