I agree with rally wagon the Chinook tarp is great, a bit on the heavy side but a nice solid tarp, you can get bigger sizes too

use a stuff sack with compression straps and trash bag inside to lash to the bottom of your pack, that is what I used for my sleeping bag in my " ground days"
