I'm 5' 9" 170 and have an 11ft hexon 1.0. Same material basically. Should be more than enough for you. I just do a single stitch down the sides and triple stitch the end channels. I would suggest...
Mine start at 27" from the end

Here's one of the original threads. Knotty himself referred to it as "stretch-side" that's why you couldn't find anything on it.
Instruction: Stretch-Side Hammock...
If no one else has a solution/formula before I get home, I'll measure mine. I'm 5'9" so it should work for you as well.

I laid down in my hammock and got situated then had my wife make a chalk mark where my feet were. I then went a foot in either direction.

Mine is 55" wide. I recently made one for a friend that is 72". I didn't find it to be more comfortable at all. In fact, the extra material was a little annoying. I'm only 5' 9" though. I imagine it...
I use Marlin spike/toggle and whoopie slings when backpacking but was looking for something easy and fool proof for car camping, back yard, friends that borrow hammocks, etc
...and I have this...
I think I'll give it a try. Thanks for the info.
Has anyone sewed their own daisy chain? I have some webbing from Dutch and have a couple of hammocks I only hang in the back yard. I was considering sewing a short daisy chain but didn't know what...
No ENO hate here either. It was the gateway for me and my wife as well. I like the company. I was also thinking the atlas straps are pretty idiot proof.

Thanks for all the input!
I recently took a group of men (young and old) from the church camping. Mostly for the purpose of taking some boys that don't have fathers on their first camping trip....
I'm sure there are threads about this but my search didn't come up with anything. I'm making a hammock, bugnet, and tarp for a friend who only car camps. He doesn't care about weight. His only...
I feel cramped at 83%. 86% works for me.
I'd probably buy 2 at that price.
Thanks Kyle. I'm anxious to see (or buy) whatever this idea is
Caminante, I'd love to see pics of the winter tarp. That may be my next project.
geneaut, you should! It's nice to be able to make something that is exactly to your needs. It helps that it was half the cost as well. I used Fronkey's how to video and changed the size a little.
Welcome from Gadsden. You should definitely try out Cheaha. McDill Point is a great place to camp if it's not crowded.
I haven't noticed any wear on mine, but it's only had 4 or 5 nights and several afternoon naps.
Thank you! It's my first diy tarp.
Nice job sir
Just finished my membrane silpoly hex tarp. 9.4oz including all lines and stuff sack....
I'm actually in Hokes Bluff. I just say Gadsden because people are generally more familiar with it.
Here's minehttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160216/78054d30db359a0043a04facf9556324.jpg
About 4lbs 11oz for:
Hammock, whoopie slings, tree straps, and toggles.
UQ, TQ, pillow.
Tarp,...

I've been enjoying the forum for a little while now and decided to start posting.
I've car camped all my life and got into backpacking a couple of years ago. Somehow that led to hammock camping....
I have (and love) a WB Mamajamba tarp that provides plenty of coverage for me, but my wife has recently started hanging with me. We can both fit under the tarp in fair weather, with the right trees....
Nice! Enjoy!
I'm with SilvrSurfr. I like the freedom of leaving the bug net at home. I have a Dutch 11' netless and I made a Fronkey style net that I rarely use. I made a ridge line organizer with the leftover...
