Good for you. Planning on doing something similar myself or trying to hit as many group hangs as I can.
I'm with you on watching that. Excellant job ripstopbytheroll!! Just need pink or purple.
Boy have I missed you!! Great video and one heck of a nice set-up, well done Grizz :)
Rather than going through the 12 pages, what weekend was decided on for Mohichan?
I'll see if I can get my old computer up and going and add map, pictures, directions to kosik, and such...
Been a mad minute since I've been on the forums....what kind of hammock is that in your picture
Thanksgiving weekend, bad. The 6th bad, the 13 the worst. Also just an FYI, site 8 is fine especially during fall for hammocks. It doesn't work out for the large groups of hangs that we used to...
Are these still the dates? This weekend is a maybe, if I can't get out of something going on here. Thanksgiving Weekend might be very difficult for me to make.
Thanks grannypat! Had I been able to tie off to a boulder, I certainly would have preferred that, but this system is surprisingly solid. I did have my son bounce around in them first though :)
I had a picture of bug in her life jacket after all, and OMG, excuse those battered, playing in the river legs

....and just too cute, this is Mocha, wished I'd taken a picture of Bug in her little life jacket 112062
Morelia; Thanks for the encouraging words. Glad you are liking your hammock inside too :) I'm not using a stand, I had my husband go full on and into the double top plate of walls. I figure I can...
Thanks OutandBack :) No boyscout here, but I can lash the heck out of things, lol My top favorites; that trustie, ever handy prusik, and lashing.
I know people travel from miles around to see the giant basket, but quite honestly most of us, me included find it to be a complete eye sore. It's agrivating to come out of the trees to see the...
...and now some just for fun pics :)

My son is skinny; but I'm a bigger gal. For my portion, my anchor triangle line was much larger, with more loops to drive spikes in. Because we were on a river rock mixed sand area, after the...
Additional pics of the supports and anchoring. Some may be very difficult to see the system on the ground. The cross beam/stick you see has nothing to do with the suport system, it was just used to...
Here is our system. We did not have to leave the flood plain to go into the woods to hang  112035
First time in 3 years thanks to watching this video rIvTeFZB-PA
Thanks everyone :) special thanks goes to my old timers whom I miss dearly. Just going through some tough times to get online with my hanging friends, because of school, family unacceptance of my...
I've been talking about it for years.........and finally cut my king bed in half to have a twin, and have gone full time house hammock :D. I got tired of fighting mattresses, wasting the money over...
First off I am a big, big, big fan of mule tape!! Love the stuff :) but just a bit of an FYI, we did switch almost all of our tree huggers over to seat belts, as the width is more acceptable for...
So slow getting caught up....I'd like to try this, love the design you have; but not sure if it'll work for me. My ridgeline on my hammock is approximately 110" (11' hammock). I'll have to sit back...
Kia Kaha; No, I don't teach at C-Tech, my son is a JR in Medical Assisting and that is his Prom weekend. Regardless, I do hope we get to meet sometime soon!! I was looking forward and working...
DARN IT! I'm out; that is C-Tech High School Prom on the 11th
jlink79, Brother Jeffery, and Bannerstone; thanks gang. I'm going to go with "doable" but "taxing", which means I should sleep well once I get sat up lol. I'm still going to plan on this hang,...
Wow! webhanger, I just ran into your stand. That is really slick!! How is this still working for you and do you have anything that you would change if you made it again? Thanks bunches in advance.
Brother Jeffery, or anyone..........just a curiousity question. When you talk about the switch back, uphill, downhill stuff, and since you have been to these sites before, is this something that can...
Each car has to have registration slip visible in windshield. They're pretty firm on that.
Boy, oh boy, oh boy, do I miss everyone. Yep, being a member of The Disappearance of Ohio Hangers isn't a very fun group at all :( I should certainly be off the walker by that point and would...
A great weekend with perfect weather!! Ended up at site 8, as the others were taken without the "HF" written at the sign up sheet. Site 8 may be smaller, but actually it was quite a nice area. It...
Ok; I've got to pick up Dakota from school, and then we'll be loading up and heading out. I won't be online anymore this weekend.
You got it, gosh, long time no see!!! You'll die when you see how much Dakota has changed and grown.
Sounds good  It's going to be tiny even if anyone else shows. Seems the old timer Ohioans have lost our touch and aren't as active as we used to be. We used to try to do a hang every...
Yes, we camp 2 nights. We take too much stuff to not make a weekend out of it
Me and my son will be there probably around 7pm. If 10 is taken, for who else is going to make it, and gets there before us, "David" fingers crossed, please mark on the Kiosk sheet "HF" or "Hammock...
Marmaduke: Yes, been to 10 several times, there is perfect tree settings that my son and I are able to hang in our triangle configuration further back from the fire pit so I only bring one big tarp....
I have to change from the weekend of October 3rd to the weekend of October 10. Two of Dakota's good friends was in a terrible car accident and one is in critical care.
Looks like site 10; I will get back with the time when we'll be able to be there, it'll probably be around 4:30, but not sure yet.
Weird.......thought I had already responded, but clearly its not showing?
Seems everyone is busy that weekend. Take care and glad to hear you both are still kicking over there. Bet Forest has...
Wow, Mike. Sending you guys good thoughts and lots prayers. I had no idea she was back in.
I'm going to be held up for quite some time with some surgeries and would really like to get a hang in before all of that process starts and more importantly....be able to see my Ohio hanging friends...
Thanks bunches Home Run and slowhike........and oh yes, I have been telling him to take it slow!!
Someone bring back a Pony!!!
I won't be able to make this years hang :( Dakota has a homecoming dance on the 27 (yes, he has his first "real girlfriend"....Yikes!!!) I'm also preparing for hip surgery (tear in right labral)....
Just ordered 30, and willing to pay in advance to help with initial order expenses. Thanks Gunner76 for doing this :thumbup1: I'm not seeing a pewter option, is that not available?
Wow, now that is customer service!
Hike small distances to HAMMOCK CAMP! Love the hammock camp part, but absolutely don't like being in a "normal setting" camp ground area with the concrete pads and such. Put me in the woods, with a...
Crap...lost my post! Now to start over, it won't be as good as the first one though. lol
Welcome to the forum Thistle. Another female hanger here whose husband doesn't go. I do drag out my 16...
Sorry to revamp a very old thread, but has anyone taken this DIY to another level? Such as a DIY one point hanging hammock tent? Something more portable than a long 2x4. Been looking at those tree...
