Looking forward to the weekend. Larry and I hope to hike in Thursday. :)
Thanks for setting this up Yogi. Look forward to seeing everyone.
You're not the turd Yogi and if the new date works better for some people that doesn't bother me. But when one person changes the date just to serve his own self interest... I think we all know who...
If the date was originally set over a year ago, why are we changing the date at the last minute? Who's the narcissistic little turd hijacking this trip?
Been a couple years since I made the Hoosier Hangs. Hope to see you all Friday.
I plan to be out there Friday after work. See you guys tomorrow!
Looking forward to it already.
I'll take it.
I can't seem to get my name on the sign-up sheet ("old version of browser"), but I plan to get there Friday night. Can't wait to see everybody.
<few minutes later>
I think I just got my name on...
I only made it one night and really didn't get to talk with everyone I had hoped, but what a great time! Thanks everyone!
Lol! It's 3 months away! We're like retailers setting up for Christmas in July. Although I'm just as excited about it too. :D
Great outing! Congratulations again HomeMadeHiker. It was great sitting around the fire and getting to know you guys. I had a blast.
Mule, we only made it back to the Pines and then a...
Evilleotter, Sorry I just read through and saw this post. Keith and I are going to get there around 3-330pm est. If you could get there a little closer to 4 I'll wait. Otherwise the walk isn't...
Dang Mule, I really hope you can make it.
Evilleotter: Here's a map I made on google for what it's worth.

Planning to be out there Friday thru Monday if there's no objections. Congrats on the graduation, Homemade!
BTW, earth is passing through a comet tail Friday night (one that it hasn't passed...
Thanks for sharing that story and your frank and honest assessment of what might have been mistakes (Anyone reading your story will surely have the opportunity to learn). Your descriptions of the...
Check out the sign up sheet (link below), it looks like several people are arriving Thursday. Try pm'ing a couple of them and see if you can sync up schedules to meet at the trail head. I'm sure...
It will be good to see you guys again HomeMade and Mancat; glad to see you can make it!
BTW, here's a link to the signup list, if you aren't already on it.
...
Looks like a nice location. I vote we make the fire ring right underneath that mess of fallen branches in your picture. Then, no need to bring a saw; maybe bring a firetruck, but no need for a saw....
BTW, if you are a little bit "GPS-Challenged," as I am; you can cut and paste those coordinates into google maps and it puts a placemark right on the map. Then you can zoom in/out, switch to...
Okay 11th and 12th now.
Trailmedic, you should edit the title to show the dates. Otherwise people who don't read past the first few posts are going to be confused.
Maybe edit the opening...
Looking forward to it. I may even have Good Friday off from work!! :D
I had a great time and thanks to everyone who showed up. And thanks to Mule for hauling in that GIANT tarp. The weather really cooperated. It didn't really start raining until after 6pm Saturday...
Mule already knows, but just to be official, "I'm in!"
Awesome video. Liked the photo montage at the end, nice touch. You kept saying how deep the snow was off the packed trails, I was waiting for you to do a demonstration by jumping in, or maybe sneak...
Glad to hear my fellow Hoosiers made it back with all their appendages unfrozen, and that the entire group stayed safe and had fun. Looking forward to the Trip Reports Pics and Videos.
It is at the end of the Tecumseh Trail. Off Crooked Creek Road to the parking area a mile or so South of Crooked Creek Lake. When you get to the end of the trail (there's a sign that says "End of...
What a beautiful weekend and such a warm and friendly group. I'm still pretty new to the hammock world, and people were really helpful with tips and advice.
Oh and to Aidanpryde18, best avatar...
Just saw you won't be able to make it, I'm sorry to hear it. Hope to you see you on the next one then.
Update:
Lol, just read a little farther and see you are back. That'll teach me not to...
Deam Wilderness is an easy one because there's usually plenty of places to find water and plenty of ways to do a loop or just a nice out and back....
Thanks for sharing the report. I haven't read too many reports on the Adirondacks, but from those couple of pics, it looks beautiful; I might have to add that to the bucket list too.
That's a really beautiful area, thanks for sharing your pictures.
Not to take you off topic, but I'm curious; where's your dog sleep? I know dogs are perfectly happy sleeping on the ground, but...
Other than a few day hikes about 2 years ago, this was my first over-nighter in the Smokys. I parked at Cosby and headed into the backcountry on Gabes Mtn Trail to Sugar Cove.
Day 1, Me at the...
Who's this hanger4life, I thought it was hosted by camper4life? ;)
Either way, I'm going.
Looking forward to the hang. I might be in Phoenix for work about that time, but will do what I can to make it.
Great pictures. Especially like "brn hil hol10.jpg" It's hard to take a picture with that much background light and then not have everything in the foreground just be a silouhette. In yours you...
Great video TrailMedic. Thanks for sharing it.
That was a great time! Thanks for the open invite, and especially thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome. Looking forward to the next event.
I'll have to look at the pictures tonight...
I'd certainly be interested in joining. I have been lurking on these forums for a while and would love to meet some fellow "hangers."
I would have to leave after work (maybe I can get out...
They do not have backcountry camping. They do have car-park-camping. It is a beautiful park though as is the park just 10 minutes south of there, Matthiessen.
The northern 3/4 of Illinois is...
