Hey there Sunny Bear. I'm at the southern Willamette Valley but one of my favorite spots is the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness, which is pretty close to you. If interested give me a shout.

Sweet! Really want to make it this year, just lacking in my kit for snow. Cold is no problem, but I need to get busy and build myself a pulk and get some snowshoes.
Check out Drift Creek Wilderness. It's by Waldport, about an hour drive from Albany.
Stay away from Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson Wildernesses. Too many Portlanders. My advice would be the Eagle Cap Wilderness, and come in from the south side. Most beautiful country in the world!
Sweet. I have a couple of coworkers corralled into this trip, but always looking for new experiences.
Other than my backyard, there are plenty of trails in the Oakridge area, as well as Cottage Grove. Some nice trails over at the coast too.
Looking for a companion or two or three for a trip in the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness for two or three nights. The trails are moderate to more than moderate. :shades:
I'm 61, in good physical...
Ordered my XLC (my second) on the 15th and am anxiously awaiting that shipping notice!
I know a nice spot in the Wallowas on East Eagle Creek. That's where I will be.
If its buggy and clear I will use a Fronky style bug net and no tarp. If it is not buggy I will skip the bug net, set up a tarp in porch mode to keep any debris from getting into the hammock and on...
This has been a very informative thread. I have been thinking of a cuban tarp, and this thread really helps in my decision making process.
Luci lantern here. I hang it off a grosgrain loop on my tarp in easy reach from the hammock. Also comes in handy around the house when a winter storm knocks out the electricity.
The wife and I always look forward to the Hickery Bros.
A stool. My Luci lantern. And some herb. I do live in Oregon. :shades:
I was having sleep apnea problems a little over four years ago. Did the sleep study. My doctor recommended weight loss as a first step. I dropped forty pounds and, voila! no more sleep apnea. My...
I do it This way.
Once the mosquitoes are gone, so is the bugnet. Other insects don't bother me, my hammock straps are permethrin treated, and have never had any nasties in the hammock with me. ;)
I would be interested in joining in. Veterans Day weekend would work for me.
I have a 30 degree EE revelation TQ, and I love it!
I'm 5' 10" 185 lbs. and I have a XLC. It is a very comfortable lay, just be sure when you set it up, the head end is around 18" lower than the foot end. That promotes a very flat lay. The XLC has...
Shug's videos!
Welcome ChillyCheeks. I envy you being so close to the Wallowas. My favorite spot on earth!
Yeah, that was Gary's first backpacking trip. He did great. :shades:
Here is a video of a recent trip into the fantastic Eagle Cap Wilderness in the Wallowa mountains of Northeast Oregon. For my fellow old timers, this area was used for the location shoots of a...
Sweet. I will be in the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness around that time. ;)
Hello, I'm Greg and I'm NOT from Portland (thank goodness). I'm an old geezer, just turning 60, and I got sick and tired of crawling on my hands and knees into a tent. Thus, I bought a hammock, and...
