I did a Bic/HikerDad style bridge hammock several years ago. I just rolled the raw edges of the fabric into the webbing that ran along the edge of the bridge. No problems.
Awesome! Thanks for the info.
Great video and amazing scenery. I love the Grayson Highlands area. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for the pictures, I think we would have been slackers and hit site 1 or 2. I really do appreciate all the help but it looks like Gamma may change our plans if the forecast rain plays out....
Failed- I using a Mustang brand 35L roll top bag. I tried to use it as a pillow during an overnight Scout event (OA Ordeal) It deflated pretty quickly when I laid my head on it. Used my boots as a...

Hi,
A friend and I will be camping at Elk Knob State Park in a few weeks. He will be using a tent. I prefer to hammock. Does anyone know if the backcountry sites are suitable for hammocking? I'd...
I’ll second that. I had two metal mitten hooks snap on me one night when the wind picked up. I will be following this to see the outcome for the linelocs.
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
They look great. Hammock napping captures the moment!
Welcome to the rabbit hole
I did this exact thing this past weekend while scout camping. Worked well.
Sounds interesting.
I’ll second what Trailslug said. I’ve come to enjoy the gentle rocking. Sometimes I’ll try and move a bit to get it moving again.
I’ll take it.
Do you know the approximate volume of the pack?
Thanks.
I’d second Mt Sterling and Cammerer. I love that corner of the park. Big Creek campground is one of my favorite places to stay. As a side note, Max Patch bald is not a far drive from Big Creek. It’s...

I’m in for bundle #2. Thank you.
I’m in for bundle #2. Thanks.
Glad to help. It’s under the alerts for the park. It’s not very well advertised by them, in my humble opinion.

I grabbed a few of these from the Dollar Tree the other day. I was able to put my top and bottom quilt in it and compress it down without a vacuum. This will be a great space saver. Thanks for the...
I have looked for reviews of DIY projects made using UP. So far I haven't been able to locate any. Anyone have any insights to share? Thanks.
I’m also interested.
That was a great video, thanks for sharing. Who was the music by?
Sounds promising. Thanks for sharing your results with us.
I’m also curious. Had anybody had any experience with making a quilt using UP insulation?
Definitely not too long. I’m really enjoying following along with this.
From the RBTR website:
“This fabric has distinct shiny (PU4000) and matte (sil/PU) sides. It is recommended to put the matte side facing out and shiny side facing inwards. If seam sealing, we...

Complete sidebar, but I was in a class today and a gentleman from a government agency said we could find their number in the blue pages of the phone book. I bet the younger generation in the class...

Thanks. I am around 190 and I have had no problems. I would conservatively say it would be good to at least 225.
I may be camping overnight at Jones Lake State Park near Elizabethtown, NC in the near future. Can anyone suggest any particular campsites that are better for hanging? Thanks in advance.
For sale is a DIY bridge hammock body. I made it following Hiker Dad/BIC's videos. It is light green and it is made from Dutch's PolyD with 1/2" webbing (also from Dutch) for the side channel...
Happy new year! I finally finished my DIY Grizz Brizge Ariel. I got it hung up for a quick test lay and some pictures. I really like the lay of it. I am more of a side sleeper. Thanks to Grizz for...
