No - I flipped the end inside out. My hammocks have the first 8 inches along the top sewn so no flipping. It looks funny because I didnt put any tension on the ends to cinch the ends closed.

I've seen gathered ends that have the suspension pulling from the top and also pulling from the bottom of the end channels - any reason/logic/advantage in this?
All I can figure is if pulled from...
Hey Nobby. Did some checking and yes, it has loops for stretcher carry - size stated as 2.56m x 2.16m. The picture before was "not" it I was told - finally told. We'll see. Was told it does come with...
International postal stinks - was notified that it wont arrive till somewhere between Oct 5 and the 22nd. Did however find that the 2 I'm getting come with bug netting. The poles are extendable...

Yes, a bit expensive, but the whole kit is worth it. I like the poles too! Cant wait to try your method making a fast bridge. Bring along some mosquito netting and your good year round. Now the wife...

Happy dreams Heyduff! Your doing good!
You're welcome BigE94!
I have 2 bridge hammocks (not Ridgerunners) I can give you. They are in good shape and made with mule tape. I'll dig them out and take some pictures if you like (and dig out the measurements). No...
There isnt one that I know of. In the Gulf war/other areas we used ponchos and regular stretchers. I've only seen them used by the Brit/Aussie military. I think they are still issue even today. They...
Watched 4 times now with entire family - everyone loves your accent! It may be a small isle, but its mighty nice looking there. Wife wants to go back and stay a week or 2 after our little house gets...
Thank you Otter! I cant take all the credit - the wife brought up some important observations along the way. Mads pretty sharp too! Our Alaska trip really showed us what works/doesnt work and what...
"also known as olefyn." Ah! Now I know what your referring to. I'll look into it more closely. Thanks for the info, leightfoot!

Thats a good idea - I'll add it myself - in fact, adding one or 2 more along the line for more adjustment. Used it last night - not near cool enough, but wanted to see anyway. Works like a charm...
Very nice video! Just noticed where you are. My wife and I spent a weekend at Rowborough Stone Barn in Shorwell 2 years ago and loved the area and people (and beer). The coast is absolutely...
Aww - time for a new phone. Everything is green tinted now. Heres the final pic anyway of the top draw cords.

Great post! I havent seen a Basha for a long time. Lots of tie outs, grommets and even handles so it can be used as a stretcher. Although heavy, they were made to last. Look forward to seeing your...
Ok - finished one of the new socks. 8 yds of argon 67. This time instead of using a big rectangle, I made it boat shaped - I measured 3 ft down and 2 feet in (I think) - marked it and cut it. I...
Been looking at the mini cordlocks (really tiny)and 1/16" shock cord. Zing-it and Lash-it would work also. I'll order all of it just so I can play with different things. You can also sew down one...
Yes, kinda. The Molly Mac has shockcord on one side. I apologize if I stepped on anyones design toes.

Thanks sidney! With the variable winds we experienced, I feel this is a good solution for venting and entry/egress - can now use either side!
JT
Thanks MAD777! I cant count how many times I fumbled with the zipper tabs on the sock in the dark - or light for that matter. Just pull down on the wall - easy when your still half asleep.

After several problems we had during our Alaska trip this past winter, one really stuck out - not because it didnt work, but more of a wasnt quite versatile enough. We both had full coverage...
Its a Singer 201-2 from 1957 in excellent mechanical condition. Im trying to pass it on, but no one wants to drive over and get it. At 35lbs it weighs more than most small boat anchors. I have a nice...
Excellent! Glad it helped.
We made the end pouches pretty much static except with the shockcord in the top channels we so can pull the pouches out another 8 inches or so along the ridgeline,...
Sorry to take so long. I got out the wifes hammock that has yellow prussics so you can see it better. The middle pouch is bigger than mine because she wanted it like that. The 2 end pouches are the...
Ive been asked to show a picture of the underlayment in the UQ - here tis!

Cut to the same width and however long you would like. I cut mine to cover me from shoulders to hips. This...
Hmm - took some better pictures - sorry for no "in the wild" pictures - garage pictures will have to do for now. The mesh bag is within easy reach when in the hammock. I can slide the prussics to...
Cruiser51 - saddle bags are an excellent idea and those look nice! Looks like you have a shelf also ala Blackbird.
Thank you KBrOOks! Absolutely on the attachment point pictures. For the end pouches I just ran the line thru the end of the ridgelines and use an oval link/mini biner to hook to the other end. I...
Your quite welcome, skater! Its so simple. The wife and I removed the ridgeline organizers recently and added another pouch in its place - 1 at each end and one spanning the middle is even better!...
jdy - I found my 16 gal trash compactor bags at wally world and at the local dollar store (Terre Haute) - dollar store was way cheaper. 13 gallon bags will work just fine Im sure in double mode. My...
Yep - I and the wife have the same problem with the single bags deflating overnight. Thanks for suggesting the double bag. Will be trying it tonight!

Im very familiar with draping clothes, water/beer bottles/food and assorted things from and on the ridgeline. These mini-me hammocks work wonderfully and are completely out of the way or close by if...
Thank you MAD777! I forgot that both pockets weigh 2.3 oz together.
Smckinney0031 - Did I hear your sewing machine calling? Better answer! Ok - your sewing machine wants you to use it. It's...
Thanks - its a very simple project. The only problem is finding the best size for your hammock. I didnt think I would like it at first, but once I loaded them up and found I still have plenty of room...
Thanks. I know storage options are limited unless you go outside the hammock, but this is all I could think of for now. The wife likes it (which is all that REALLY matters).
I should mention that...
Hello all. I've been looking at the various types of storage options for inside and outside of the hammocks. One thing my wife and I missed in Alaska were more pockets for storage of gloves, socks,...

This is what the wife and I used on our recent backpacking trip in Alaska. Gear hammocks with a ridgeline and cord in the side channels to cinch up the sides. I have to say this was one of our fav...

Your welcome!
Your welcome, BillyBob58. Yes, we used the sleeping bags in quilt mode. The only reason we didnt use dedicated TQ's was we knew we would have to go to ground (snow) occasionally. I have the bags that...
