I think we’re leaning towards the James River area, thanks for all the insight!
Hi all, i have a question for anyone ine the springfield MO area.
I plan to bring my teenage son there this weekend on a short trip. We’re trying to find a decent campground to camp in Friday...
Great idea, it looks like fun with the kids!
That was exactly my thinking on the side pullouts, I’m just not certain if there considered stock or not?
I’ll probably try to contact them and see what my options are.
And yes, I was...
Great feedback all, that answers allot of questions I had!
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like I can use the coupon code on the custom tarps. I’m guessing the stock SF doesn’t come with any pullouts?
Hi all,
I would like to take advantage of the Warbonnet sale going on. I would like to pick up a superfly for my ridge runner.
Are the pole mods & end tie outs recommend?
I assume the pole...
Nice!
For your weights you could likely find small iron weights (plates) by the piece or dumbbells?
Southern MO and NW Arkansas have lots to offer if you don’t mind a little drive from the KC area. I took my middle daughter on a trip last fall to “hemmed in hollow” that is part of the buffalo river...
Most of the area reservoirs have decent options in Kansas , it depends what area your in I suppose. Clinton lake near Lawrence is a good spot, look for “Woodridge” primitive camping & hiking trail.
I have a stand with the 1” because I acquired a bunch of rigid 1” conduit, works great!
I really like the way you guys decided to plan to not have a plan. Great video, thanks for sharing !
This sounds like a mighty good plan, have fun and document so we can all see!
I know there is a campground that is rented out along that trail, we used to take our youth group there once a year.
Enjoyed you sharing your winter outing with us, and if I were looking for an “expert” opinion on winter outings I can’t think of a better one than yours[emoji6]
How about "old military trail" along the east side of Perry lake? Actually that might not be the correct name, but i know there is a fairly long trail over there.
The Fam & I might be able to do a...
WK- did you ever do that float? I’ve considered that also. Thinking with one of my stands and the right sandbar it could be a nice trip?
Also, I took my daughter to NE Arkansas on the buffalo...
Wow ironfish, what a bummer on the loss of your gear. But cool on the members that helped you out!
I have decided and ordered a full length Lynx winter model, Its probably a little overkill for...
Dang...your right. I missed the drop down menu.
Thanks
Hi all, I've recently purchased a WBRR and really like it so far. I'm going on a trip late October and am trying to decide on an under-quilt.
I sleep fairly warm, and not very concerned about...
I'll take the other bug net.
Starting to lean towards the buffalo river trail, hemmed in falls. That looks like good fishing and great scenery. It also looks like we could use an outfitting service to taxi us after the trip.
Thanks for all of the responses so far all [emoji1360]
mo_hunter- that thought just hit me also, because I can likely reach northern Arkansas in good time, I would assume there's likely trails...
One of my 13..almost 14yo daughters request for her birthday is a backpacking trip. We were originally thinking CO, but with limited time/recourses we are planning to go a little closer to home (NE...
It brought me on board, I didn't know anything about it until watching your last video. Podcasts come in handy on my long daily commute [emoji1360]
Just sent the payment [emoji1360]
I'll take the tarp for $50
Payment sent
I'll take it, just shoot me your payment info.
I'll take it. This will be a perfect birthday present for my daughter before our upcoming trip [emoji1360]
Great idea [emoji1360]
Thanks for the link.
Is this kit still available? The only thing I see on dutches link is for the whole set.
Thanks too Dutch for getting my reasonably priced/shipped purchase to me just in time to get my Christmas projects made!
Thanks, Shanon
I received the sample and I think it will work well for the DIY gathered end I'm hoping to make. Defiantly breathable, and doesn't seem to be insanely heavy :)
If you do, don't take it to the woods or you'll loose it ;)
All good ideas....minus the curtains that is
I ordered a swatch so which should be here tomorrow, so Ill keep you posted on my take of the material.
Since I'm not to concerned with it...
Thanks for fixing the link RD.
Yeah…I know it's not designer camo you would wear too the mall, but don't knock it until you try it ;)
Oops, lets try again http://http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Hunting-Camo-Lightweight-Fabrics/Nylon-Taffeta-Camouflage-Fabric-ASAT
pattern, in ASAT camo. I would love to build a hammock out of it as it's listed as nylon taffeta. Although its listed at 4OZ. per yard, I'm not sure its the right weight or strength. Here is the link...
I have some on there made from brown bankline, they just blend in.
Thanks for the reminder though
Well thanks to all of the great info in here, I was able to set up a hammock on our deck. Not only that but my wife who's not yet convinced on the hammock thing is reading in it right now...
Thanks, yes it's from a ginormous three room tent. Could be interesting in a KS wind ;)
All good points, my smeller probably isn't as sensitive as some! I have also used Sawyers with good results also, it's just WAY more costly.
I haven't used either product on my hammock stuff yet,...
I have used the tractor supply concentrate for a couple of years. Yes it has a slight smell, but not bad. And I can tell you first hand it works well! While turkey hunting I watched a deer tick...
Playing around a little bit tonight in the basement with my WOOT hammock and a tarp salvaged from a garage sale tent with no poles. I received my first shipment of amsteel last week and haven't...
That's kinda what I was planning, but haven't ever ventured into owning a whoopie set up yet. I bought one for my kids earlier in the year, and haven't messed with upgrading the suspension yet. Thanks
Does anyone have an idea of what suspension from Dutch would be best for this hammock?
Got mine today! Actually bought three for my kids, as they outgrew the homebuilt ones I made.
Would be very interested to see how you guys are setting these up (mods etc..). I'd like to get them...
