I've been using the same Jarbridge since 2015 for backpacking, and it's been great for me. Getting started in hammocking can be expensive, and this is a great option to get an UQ for $100 or less...

Good to see another Oklahoman on here. I use Dutch wasps and tarpworms, I just like the ease of not messing with knots. The hardware and guy lines (shock cord and Lawson glowire) stay attached to...
I second the Nemo Fillo. Like the others, a little pricey for what it is but it's comfortable.
Okie here as well. I've hiked in the Oklahoma portion of the OT, but haven't made it over to that area. I hope to do that one at some point in the near future. I've got a 3/4 length UQ that has...
Thanks for the tip, I’ll take a look at White Miuntain.
I’ve hiked on the OT from Talimena State Park several times. The loop using the Boardstand and Old Military Trail is one of my favorite...
I'm planning a single night trip to the Ozark Highlands Trail. I've never been to this trail, so i'm curious if anyone has any recommendation on which section to hike? Looking for a 15-20 mile...
I can't speak for the Fleaz specifically, but I was able to put black Lawson's reflective cord on my tarpworms. It was challenging though to get the cord to fit in the hole since it was a little bit...
I can't attend this fall, but making this a yearly event is a great idea. Maybe I can make one down the road someday. I've done the first sections of the OT a few times, and it's a great place to...
Me and some buddies are going to hike the Butterfield trail this fall. It'll be our first time on this trail as well. How was your trip? Any suggestions/tips for our trip?
Thanks!
Enter me in the giveaway. A friend of mine new to backpacking has been borrowing my stuff (including an old tent). This would really improve his sleep situation!
I'm curious if there is any major difference in the feel of the shell fabrics between HG and UGQ? Is there anyone that has handled both that can comment on that?
The Eagle Rock Loop is on my list of must-do hikes in the near future. I've hiked in the Ouachita's in eastern Oklahoma several times, and it's beautiful country. Great write-up of your trip, and...
I'm relatively new at hammocking, but in my limited expereince I prefer a 12ft tarp with my 11ft hammocks. I don't just want the tarp to extend past the end of the hammock; I want it to also extend...
Voted! Enjoyed the video, good luck
Another vote for using both. Tarp with the skins on fits inside the stuff sack just fine for me.
Hello from Oklahoma.
Which hammock and goodies did you decide to go with?
Never mind, I just saw your other thread. That's no good that your argon mysteriously disappeared. At least Dutch will take care of you if it never shows!
I agree, Paul's customer service is great!
Well what do you think Mr. Deathstar: do you like the argon or nylonD more?
I lean towards the nylonD because I like the feel of the fabric more, but that's just personal preference. Can't really...
Awesome! Let us know how you like them once you try them out
Kyle is right: when a product is sold at retail, extra profit margin has to be built in for the retailer. We have the benefit of cottage vendors that we buy directly from, because we took the time...
That's one reason I enjoy backpacking as opposed to camping at campsites: no noise from other campers who feel like being noisy all night.
As far as nature sounds go, I found that they were much...
I'm jealous! Been debating sticking with my down 20* bag or spending the money on a top quilt. Yours looks great!
I agree with others here. I have MountainGoat snake skins as well, and they work great. Makes the set-up and tear-down so much easier.
I sent a PM to ask more details about the quilt on Sunday and haven't heard back.
I'm curious which one you like more, the NylonD or the argon? I have gotten both also and can't make my mind up which I prefer; I like different things about each of them
There is a double layer of the NylonD hammock, but not the PolyD or ArgonD. You have to click the drop down box to see the different single layer/double layer options.
I don't believe that Dutch's...
Mine shipped Monday and arrived Wednesday.
I've tried the sleeves out in my backyard, and they make deploying and packing away the tarp much easier. The tapered design of the sleeves fits my...
He must have subliminal messages hidden in the website telling us we want...no, need...dutchware. At least our wives can get a taste of what we feel like when they're at the mall!
I'm new also, and got started for $330 ($230 before underquilt purchase). I spent a little more for a silnylon tarp that weighs less since I backpack. But for car camping like you will be doing, you...
Recent tent convert myself. It's definitely easier on the back!
I ordered mine over the weekend and got a shipping notice Monday.
I'll be one of the hundreds to agree that Dutch has great customer service. I emailed him over the weekend about recieving the wrong item in my order. He responded within an hour with a solution to...
I emailed Paul over the weekend with my question about the shockcord length on the Jarbridge for an 11ft hammock. He already emailed me back. He said some of the 11ft hammocks do sometimes fit...
I couldn't agree more locknload.
I also got my tarp rigged up. Flyz on the ends and Tarpworms on the sides. All permanently attached to the tarp. The last thing I still think I need to make setup a breeze (and perhaps more...
I've been thinking about getting some snakeskins, and I think I'll order from her. It's neat to find small businesses that do great work through this forum.
What about big bend national park in the chisos mountains?
I have a similar question with my new Jarbridge. I have an 11ft hammock (just like the XLC), and the suspension for the jarbridge seems to be too short for the hammock. Since I'm new to UQ's, I...
I just got my Jarbridge in a couple weeks ago. It's pretty nice!
I'm a backpacker, and over the years I had been upgrading my equipment (1-2 things a year) to high quality gear. (Started with cheap gear). I had finally gotten to where I had everything I needed,...
Zing-it for both my structural ridgeline and tarp lines.
It has more stretch. I prefer the stretch personally, but I know some like the firm lay of PolyD. HYOH
I'm not sure how the strecth of the 1.6 single layer NylonD compares to the strecth of the...
I'm glad you like yours. Sure does beat a tent and pad
I just got my new 3s jabridge in from arrowhead. I'm looking forward to trying it.
Are Dutch's whoopie hooks big enough to act as a water break? I'm counting on the fact that they will be. I've yet to be out in the rain in my hammock, so I haven't been able to test that yet. ...
I'm new here as well. Nice to see someone else from Oklahoma, I don't think there are a lot of us here.
I haven't had a chance to take my new hammock setup camping yet either. I've also got a...
That's beautiful country there. Enjoyed the pics!
I agree with boomer, I would look at a synthetic from arrowhead equipment. It may not have the same appeal as down, but "down" and "budget" don't go together very well.
Sounds just about identical to what I'm about to do with my tarp. I'm also waiting on an order of flyz, tarpworms, and zing-it to come in so I can simplify my tarp set-up.
Same here, I just placed an order a couple days ago.
