I have the Brother XL2600i, which is a cheaper model than the CS600i. I've made hammocks, stuffsacks, Topquilts and Underquilts with it and it worked great. I've also made many other things on it...
Pretty sure I used the same tutorial to make my UQ. The 3.5 inch strips are channels for suspension.
You gotta love Dutch! Amazing customer service. He's definitely hooked me up. I love getting those packages: "Dutch bling enclosed"
Great looking work there. I made a similar UQ with 6.0 CS. Got down to the low 30's so far with the only issue being a gap at the foot end I had to adjust for. Warm and toasty other than that. ...
My UCR's are larks headed just inboard of the whipping on the ends of my hammock. The tail of the UCR works as a water break too.
Awesome! Looks like you had some fun. Thanks for posting the video.
Great looking tarp you got there. Nice work!
I second ylnfrt that it looks like you need to remove your stakes and tighten the ridgeline then restake. I have the same tarp and it works great for me. In fact I just woke up from napping under...
I use prussiks on my RLO too. Looks great!
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. My buddy is an accomplished quad-copter pilot and he has a GoPro. Gonna have to commission him to shoot some footage for me at our next hang.
That's pretty creative. I've got a bunch of old earbuds in a drawer. I'll have to give this a try.
The cool factor of your test makes it scientific enough for me. Thanks for sharing. Happy corn hanging.
That's some mighty fine MacGyverin there.
That looks awesome! I never thought of doing a cool quilt pattern! I love the Charlie Brown TQ!
Happy Birthday to you! Happy hangin!
Looks great! Dutch's $3 polyD and NylonD have created a monster over here. I whipped up a 3S TQ and both 1S and 3S UQs with it along with several stuff sacks. I'll probably end up with another...
I made clones of the Jarbidge in 1S and 3S. I'd go with 3S for the greater versatility.
That looks great! I just made a Climashield TQ with the same color scheme!
That was amazing! Great work!
That color combo is awesome! Nice work!
Congratulations! DIY does rule! Happy hangin.
What a great idea! Can't wait to see the footage!
Nice looking work. This is what I was planning to do with my CDT. Thanks for the write-up and especially the pictures!
Question: Did you bind the seams after attaching the footbox or just melt...
Welcome from MN! That's a real nice rig you got there. Gotta love the Dutch bling too! Happy hangin!
Just tested my DIY apex 6.0 in the backyard hang testing station and hit the big 32°!
I don't have a TQ yet so I used an MSS patrol bag and a fleece poncho throw I made. My UQ is pretty much a...
This picture is off HG's website, but this is how I use em, as a secondary suspension on my Underquilt.

Welcome! Shug is from up here too! Unfortunately, I live in the one place in MN without a lake.
Happy Hanging!
I see what you're going for here. Looks cool! That'll work perfect for the narrow bedroom I want to hang in!
Great idea! Now I know why I've never thrown away any old bag I stopped using.
In general I've always liked the idea of DIYing things as cheaply and simply as possible. One hobby I picked up as a kid was salvaging and rebuilding old bicycles using mostly junkyard and garage...
Welcome from Minnesota! For what it's worth, I've always been a side or stomach sleeper but in a hammock I mostly sleep on my back. I occasionally like to curl up in a fetal position on my side,...
Welcome from Minnesota! Happy hangin.
Looks awesome! Reminds me of an old school scout tent. Keep us updated with more pics.
It's always validating when you "invent" something that someone else has already done. Let's you know you're on to the right track. Great job Fastmatt!
Dutch IS the man! Always driving innovation for his fellow hangers! Those cinch bugs look neat. Every cool new thing he comes up with I have to find a way to justify my need for it on my rig.
Thanks for the review. Since I started living la vida Hammock I've steered towards DIY gear mostly due to budget constraints. Anytime I HAVE to spend money I'm way more comfortable handing it over...
Looks great! Let us know about getting down into the 40's with it.
Great new method GadgetUK437! Very interesting idea! Thanks for the videos and diagram brother!
Finally worked my way down my project list to the Knotty Mod. I knew about this handy mod but just now read through this whole thread. I'll be adding this to existing hammocks but I really like the...
+1more! Always had great experiences dealing with RSBTR. Thanks for helping fuel my obsession Kyle!
I haven't looked at Cuben Fiber much, mainly due to my budget. I didn't even know you could get it in different colors! They look great! Might have to revisit the idea of using it on some of my...
Triptease looped through the D ring on the tarp then tautline hitch for tension. I leave these attached to my Hennesy Hex and tucked into the guy pockets. Clove hitch to my Groundhogs as I pitch it.
Interesting write-up. Thanks for the info!
Great looking rig there. I used some of Dutch's Camo diamond RS for my underquilts. I love that camo pattern!
Dutch makes some great bling and its fun to and easy to use. However knowing a few knots for emergencies is a good idea. Plus knots a fun hobby. Once you've mastered a knot its pretty easy to...
Some great advice here already! From my experience I can tell you that you've come to the right place for any hammock related questions.
My $0.02: the cinch buckle is super simple and no knots. ...
Take it from Kyle; the guy to get your Ripstop from.
Looks great! Nice work! Glad to see people getting some use out of these down throws.
Just watched your video. Great work brother! I love the hem that Rotary Even Foot produces. They look very proffesional. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Very informative. I'd...
I'd thought of using my CDT diagonally for a TQ. Thanks for the write-up and pictures! I think I'm sold on the idea.
