Nice read...thanks Dutch. I have been leaning toward bushcrafty camp as of late due to time and location constraints. I agree hammocks transcend both!!! Love my dutchware gear!

For ultra light and high-ish r value, it is hard to beat a woman's (higher r value) Xlite. I think they weigh in right around 12oz. You will have to determine comfort and weather the width and...
Thanks shug. Before I took up hanging, I was a tarp buy ground dweller. I have intended to do the same using the chameleon as a bivy in the event I am forced to ground. Hadnt thoought about...
I would take a look at the dyneema poly straps. I like them amit and think they are a good blend of weight and durability. That being said I have the new blue dyneema on order....we'll see how...
I have found the zipper to be awesome. It's like a marine zipper....It's got nice big teeth. I concur that it has gotten easier with some use.

Dutch made me a mini dog hammock upon request at a very reasonable rate. I do have to help them in but one in, they will lay in there all day (or night) until supper time.....thanks Dutch. ...
Just Ordered a HG 40 deg econ Phoenix for just such an occasion

For me, gear is cool (especially the chameleon) but what it really boils down to is about spending time in the woods which I never het to so as often as I like. I wouldn't shorten or postpone a...
I have to admit....it doesn't suck. ;)

That is funny....i just asked dutch if he would make me a mini-hammock for my dogs out of hexon 2.4. He agreed....Thank you again Dutch.
They LOVE laying in a hammock but are not allowed in my...
I am laying in my chameleon as I type and read this thread. To all those patiently waiting, I can attest it was worth the wait. It has to be the most innovative, versatile, effective, integrated,...

Aloha All,
Just received Chameleon....woo hoo! I mean wooh buddy.
Anyone know how to hook up the peak storage yet? What do you hook it up to in the peak (continuous loop)? How do you run the...
Integrated bug nets are nice (I have chameleon coming). But if you did want to mess with fronkey style bug net, I have one I would sell. Depending on your area, time of year, and your fortitude...
that is not funny.....but now it is because I learned 1 is not a prime number!
but seriously....where the hell is my hammock? still kidding....or am I?
I am backer #1. Where the f%@$^ is my chameleon!?!?
J/k. Actually, I am the first backer but I am not freaking out. Excited, but patient. Take you time Dutch, but hurry up. J/k (again)

I thought it might be for Dutch hammock. Your wait can't be any longer than mine for the Chameleon on Kickstarter. Good luck. May both our wait times be short

Not a fan of kick starter...but I do like a discount so I am willing to put up with it knowing Dutch is a already a proven reliable business man. I can see a scenario where it would be easy to lose...
Can't believe this is still here....if I didn't just buy a sil poly 12' hex, would be all over it.

So I flipped the hammock and readjusted the bunching at CL. Big improvement in ridge reduction and now appears to be as comfortable as others. Who would have thunk?
Fyi OCdave...it is a sewn end...
I am sure resale will be quite strong especially if there long lead times....you could consider any small net loss a rental fee. Of course, if you are more patient than I am, you can of course wait...
x2....I didn't really need another suspension system especially heavier than I am currently using. No big deal....I am sure I will find a hammock for it. ;) Plus it helped keep the prices up so we...
LOL...the comfy hammocks are brilliant blue and dark olive, the one with the calf ridge is burnt orange.

thank you for the info. More than anything it reassures that I am not imagining the issue. I will flip, measure, and reinstall the reinstall the CL....hopefully that will remedy or improve.
Interesting.
I like the R value.

That appears to be a pretty common anxiety. Though not much time in a hammock yet, I have spent a fair bit solo hunting initially in a tent and lately under a tarp. For me it was a gradual...
I have 3 Dutch net less hexon 1.0 11' hammocks. They are Awesome. However, 1 has noticeably/significantly more calf ridge than the other two. Is this possible if the are virtually set up the same...

I got in to hammock camping this year. Had the Eno for years for the day hike, beach trip, or the back yard...that kind of thing. Always felt it was too heavy to lug around camping but later went...
Searching some old threads..Forgive my ignorance but what does running the pull outs on the porch accomplish? I assume they are lashed around the trecking pole, then to the ground? Thank you in...
Are Hummingbird hammock straps made out of fairy dust? I made my own whoopies, lightweight straps and carbon fiber toggles....weighs more than twice what the hummingbird set up is. Granted, mine is...
Anyone offer an inexpensive bug net without having to sew one from Walmart curtains. Looks pretty easy but I am not that industrious. Seems like $60 might be the going rate for a made one but...
