I have made 3 of these. It is actually easier than it looks from just the patterns. You can find a different pattern with instructions that will work for TheXringHunt's design here:...

I realize that this is an older thread.... Has anyone put together plans for making one of these? I am trying to piece this together with all the alterations and other comments throughout this...
This is a great thread! Thank you for posting! I have been toying with the idea of making a synthetic UQ myself. I have two questions for you: How much does it weigh, and how small does it pack down...
Okay, I finally finished my version of the "Warbird". Just got back the other day from a two day trip to the Eight Lakes Basin in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness here in Oregon. It was a great trip...
Interesting....
Ok finally got around to weighing my tarp. It comes in at 13.2 oz fully ready to pitch, minus 4 stakes which add another 1.9 oz, so grand total pack weight is 15.1 oz. I am very happy with that.
Thanks! The ridge line is the only place that isn't cat cut, and I used a straight up flat felled seam there. For some reason the hybrid or modified flat felled seams just didn't look strong enough...
I used the specs found here: http://diygearsupply.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/DIYGS-Hex-Tarp-lowres.jpg and here: http://www.teamgunnparker.com/blackcat_tarp/Black_Cat_Tarp.htm#_Toc173479835 The...
If you figure out how to do this one.... I would love to see it and any plans you come up with.
Thank you for all the positive feed back!
Thank you! I used 1.9 oz Ripstop for the tie out reinforcement and I did sandwich the grosgrain tie outs between the material.
Well after 2 years of lurking on here and learning every thing I possibly can, I finally finished it... My first DIY project. I used the plans from DIY Gear Supply (great site btw) and materials...
Thank you so much! This was exactly what I needed to know.
Okay so I have been studying all the different plans for a WBB clone, and I have even bought the materials for the project. I plan to start it as soon as I finish my cat cut hex tarp.
The one...
I just googled them and found this link on their website:

Naperica: Thanks again for the info. Can you tell me how big this quilt ends up being, bulk wise? and how much does it weigh?
Thank you! I will send you a PM with my email address and you can send it to me there. Please, and thank you!
Where did you find these instructions? Do they come with drawings? I am researching DIY UQ's and trying to decide which to make. Thanks.
My question is could this be prevented by making the UQ the same width as your hammock? Or is that impractical?
Me too!! This is genius!
I swear by it with my dogs. Never had a flea, tick or mosquito problem since we started using Advantix a few years ago.
Smokehouse, Any chance you can post the plans for the updated version? I really like this tarp! Also... what does it weigh?
Thanks for the info. I will search that string now.
I too just bought the ENO DN, then joined HF and was starting to think I had made a mistake. I am glad to hear all the happy ENO hangers on here.
I do have one question though.... the main...
