I have a 12' MacCat Ultra with doors and it closes fine with my RR with no rubbing. 13' would just give you more storm coverage on the ends. My buddy goofed and bought an 11' Warbonnet Superfly and...
I always carry a jumbo contactors bag(for hauling elk meat in my pack, emergency poncho, ground sheet ect)
I always place my pack on it under my hammock, then I can dig through my pack while I'm...
Thanks! Now, which to choose.... LoL

Thanks, I'll look...I didn't see those for some reason

So the Dutch Two person is a square cut with no doors and the Wide model is a hex cut with doors, correct? Tough decision....

It's funny because I thought I searched all over and had seen every stock tarp there is...I don't know how I missed the Dutchware wide

Does anyone make an extra wide (12' to 13') winter tarp or would it be something so big I would have to have custom made? Seems 10' wide seems to be the standard max.
I'm pretty tall and would love...
I just put a lil Tenacious Tape anywhere I think something might run through... especially where my spreader bar ends might run from my Ridgerunner. Would work great for pole mods too

I had a UQP but got rid of it but that's mainly because I have a large coverage tarp (Superfly)for my RR. I had decided I wanted to carry my extra pack weight with a bigger tarp that basically almost...
What brand are the underquilts and what is the length in the Superfly?

I went away from top covers because the condensation was not worth the temperature gain. To me, it's all about your UQ. That's the hands down biggest factor to staying warm. Air gaps are killer and...
I use the Costco diamond down quilt folded lengthwise between my 20* UQ and Ridgerunner for extra insulation...been good down to 0*. Then for my feet I bought Amazon $20 goose down booties, they...
I'm 5'10 and I noticed that anything under 11 ft I end up tucking my chin too far to my chest when I sleep and I actually end up waking myself up snoring, lol. There's really no significant weight...

Just a side note I have used a 12ft winter tarp before with my Ridgerunner and my doors shut just fine. Also the winter dream is basically exactly the same as the Superfly except it has cool little...
What about the Warbonnet Superfly in a 13-ft? That's what we use and the door shut completely and we don't have to shorten any suspension... I guess it just depends when warbonnet will be able to...
I stretch my underquilt over the top of the sides and use a large paper binder clip to hold it there, gives me all the insulation I need for knees and elbows

I am totally happy with a single layer... The pad takes away all the comfort for me

My hunting partner is 6'3 and 250 and it works perfect for him... He sleeps like a baby!

I just built my own out of cheap lightweight btent poles off of eBay! Works perfect..saved lots

Hopefully in time for their big Black Friday sale!

I love mine! I folded it up a little bit with some shock cord and use it as an under quilt with Ridgerunner, super toasty!

That will be on my next order!

Cracks me up, lol...

I modified my trekking poles to work on my Ridgerunner but every once in awhile the head and one will slip on the walking mechanism. Pretty easy DIY project though...

I'm wondering also..

When it's really cold I just take a cheap Costco down quilt and I fold it in half lengthwise and I sewed extra corner loops on the middle and I just place it between my 20* underquilt and my hammock...
I'm always fighting pack space when I'm back country hunting because of all the extra hunting gear I have to bring so I just haven't learned to stick with down so I can squish it down so much tighter...
I have an extra wide Hudson from Jack's and I just use a little bit of shock cord underneath to shrink it up using the sleeping pad loops that creates side baffles and I can custom fit it for exactly...
One simple thing I've learned to do is I bring two binder paper clips and I pull up my under quilt when I'm already in it just a little on each side and then put that clip on to hold it in place....
Me and my hiking partner both have his heatseeker sets which are 20° sets. They are awesome! Very well built and super warm. You can't beat them for $200 for the set

To me and good underquilt is always warmer and using a pad takes all the comfort away which is why we have the hammock in the first place
Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I use a Hudson from Jack's I just fold the ends under with shock cord across to make side baffles. It's hard to beat a Lynx though from WB, or the MT Washington

I use a Hudson from Jack's... It's extra wide, super warm in the 20° model and the sides come way up I can even fold them under and ty them with a little shop cord and make like side baffles. It...
Instead of a pad I take a cheap Costco quilt and added extra little loops so I can fold it in half lengthwise and then snap it in between my main under quilt and my hammock when it's getting extra...
