I’ll take the ridge reaper
Noted! Thanks for the info.
This is an awesome thread , this was self discovered for me while in the sawtooths then I kind of forgot how important feet high was and had some bad sleepless nights trying to hang flat, now I’m...
Sounds like we are all doing a group hang to scope for said Bigfoot
Quilt hooks keeping UQ in place overnight and not over cinching or under cinching your UQ is key
You could always do the 1.0 for your hammock , and then do a 1.6 brick red UQ protector so that you see that color
My hexon 1.6 is lighter than the WB elderado and packs down smaller as well.
Yeah what Roloff said!!! Hahaha
Superfly is the way to go!
I just make my own with noseeum that way if it’s wet it can breath a little better , but any material would work the same .
I would build a stand that way you can move it, or take it camping where there’s not many trees I use fence posts anchors and ratchet straps for each stand. Angling the fence posts at a 60 degree...
Trees closer together with cinch buckles doing away with the whoopies will have a lot less stretch.
Any tree strap usually hold more weight than the hammock fabric will.
Also Check out the bridge hammock option if you’re a side sleeper.
If you wanna be UL I would just use what you have at the time instead of carrying an extra pillow
I would say get a quilt that is at least as long as you are tall that way you have some extra warmth when you need it, otherwise you might short yourself comfort.
Yeah the bug has addictive qualities .
Maybe diabetes , or too many beverages , getting up in the middle of the night is bothersome, but you gotta find a spot that’s shaded in the morning that way you can get plenty of sleep.
Gotta throw the tarp up if the birds are around
This is way good information , thank you
That makes sense
My next bed indoors will be a hammock
Thanks for the info

For quick adjustment and high wind do a 3-4” loop of shock cord on the tarp with a line lock 3 from Dutch made for shock cord. Then I use a hi vis 1.8 mm line to a stake and you can quickly sinch...
Yeah I picked up a warbonnet patch kit , was thinking of sewing it together then patching over it but I kinda like those patch aid silnylon patches
It’s about a 3” slit type of tear
Do you have to use any other adhesive or just this patch ?
I’d suggest the W.B. R.R with the S.D.
I’ve found that each setup requires just finding the sweet spot , been hanging with my feet a lot higher lately and that helps keep from slipping off your UQ
I use the cocoon hyperlite air pillow , packs very small and silk headrest
Probably 12,470 volts , but still gonna microwave the bear burrito
Looks legit, just wonder how it would anchor into a rocky terrain
It’s on the door of my superfly so it’s not going to take much tension from the ridgeline
Theses ideas are very helpful , thank you
Has anyone patched a silnylon tarp before?
ill take it
I’ll take the ridge runner

My HG 20 deg is warmer than my 0 deg wookie
Idk why
Any brand in particular ?
Warbonnet never disappoints
Quality tarp and suspension, quality underquilt are gonna be your biggest saving grace
A buddy of mine was suffering many cold nights trying to hammock while the rest of us slept in our tents laughing at his trials and errors , until he figured it out, then he was the one laughing at...
I was surprised to find out that my 40 deg T.Q. with a 20 deg UQ was able to keep me completely warm when the temp dropped down to 20 deg
what about you guys?
different than am steel whoopies? is it smaller diameter ? or harder to splice ?
I've been using the adjustable dutch buckle

Looking for a Warbonnet Wooki under quilt. preferably a 20 DEG.
