thanks for the response im thinking if im going to do this i will need to use the aluminum poles as im quite a big guy i just wish i could find them at a decent price.

HardWay i am planning on doing this same design with aluminum poles of the same style and was wondering if you have tested any weight limits on the poles you used?

does anyone has any experience with how much weight the caps on the end will hold i have a similar stand but have not used them as i currently weigh almost 350lb?

Ok so i am looking at some options for DIY Portable Hammock stands that don't break the bank and i really like the turtle dog design how ever at 350lb weight limits are always a big concern on mine...
