welcome! Your Youtube page and Looks interesting, I will check out some videos for sure.
I really need to attend a group hang so I can see the "norms". I am always second guessing if I have things tweaked just right and seeing how others have there gear set up in person will give me the...
You could use door skin. Found at some lumber yards. Cuts with a sharp razor knife. Eliminating the need for power tools.

I have not put on shock cords yet. I really should get that done!
Thanks!
Sounds like a good way to spend a Saturday night actually.

I am hanging my tarp (Warbonnet Superfly)right now and it's pretty windy. I have Dutch bling hanging off the split rings of the ridge. In order to get the tarp to stop flapping in the wind I have...
Oh..... and also in a pinch you can tape together file folders. I am making a 16 foot reindeer for the side yard for next Christmass. We used the file folders taped together, transferred the thin...
I was going to say Red Rosin paper from any of the big box stores. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Trimaco-36-in-x-167-ft-Red-Rosin-Medium-Weight-Paper-35145/202040751 We use this when ever we need to...
Nice job
I need one also. Not sure if I buy it or make it yet.

Here you go.
I have found that on soft ground I don't need the rope to limit the movement of the legs. The soft ground and my weight keep them stationary. I don't think I would use them on a hard surface with out...
Maybe you sleepwalk and don't even know it. :scared:
:boggle:
what? no fiddling with all your gear???:shades:
The stand is connected at the top using S hooks. I drilled a hole in the middle of the hinge I used. You could use one of the predrilled holes, but I wanted it centered. I will be replacing the S...
I just read an old thread http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/1706-New-product-for-Figure-9-users
I am pretty sure I was reading the birth of Duthware and all the cool bling he has...
Did you have the 2 inside (towards the hammock)legs pulled out far enough?
Thanks!
Sorry for my ignorance. What is BMBH?
thanks for the links. I like the look of that REI pillow. I think I am going to have hard time narrowing one down.
I am afraid of a down pillow for the heat factor also. I am always turning over my pillow looking for the cold spot. I will check out Dutch's for sure.
Thanks Rick417, I will check out that pillow. I have been talking to my wife about the hang and may have come up with some other possibilities on why i did not sleep so well. I have discovered that...
All I needed that night was an inch or so of support. The therm-a-rest could do the trick. I am buying one to go in my foot box for added insulation. I will have to give that try.
good luck!
thanks Steve
Awesome! I will check these out. I like the idea of an inflatable for adjustabilty. I also like the tethering ability the Locolibre.
Do you have a favorite?
No pad under my feet and they were border line too hot. I almost took off my socks at one point. I did forget to mention that I had a puffer jacket zipped over the foot end. HMMMM.... I bet that is...
Well, last nights hang was not a complete success in my eyes but it was deffenetly a learning experience on what works and what does not for me.
I built a turtle dog stand yesterday and was dying...
Thanks all. Very easy to build. Now I can sleep comfortably when we travel to the in-laws house. No more couch for me!!

Built the stand today and I'm going to try out my new 20* HG underquilt tonight. Wish me luck!!

I was not thinking about getting hit in the teeth with the biner, I was thinking My luck would be taking a hit to the boys as I was shaking it out. Either way B A D! :scared:
It's great to have the whole family together camping.
We started out in a tent also, and have moved our way up through several iterations of pop-ups, fifth wheels and settled on our travel...
Nice video. Man those are some nice views. I sure wish we had some like that near me. Awesome to get your daughter out there with you!!
The funny thing is that I could not stand anything DOWN when I was younger. It was just too hot. The older I get the more I am starting to appreciate it.
I got kicked out of my hammock later in the day by the lovely wife so she could take a nap. First words out her mouth when she came is was "I'm ready for my under quilt too!"
Wow what a difference an underquilt makes. I have never owned an underquilt before. I am laying in the hammock typing this all toasty warm. It's 53* and windy. I am using a Costco down throw as a...
Lots of great advice and stories. I am learning more than I thought I would on this subject!!! Thanks all
This is not always a bad problem to have!
I have tried to drive traffic to my Wife's website and have not yet had the pleasure of being knocked off for to many users......lol (some...
The beds are not the most comfortable. I also freak out about sleeping in beds other than mine. Hotels freak me out too, but I still do it. I try not think about it.
With no AC or even a fan in...
I like those!
Welcome Kevin. There is nothing you can't learn from hammock forums about hanging!
Yes the split ring pliers are a life savor for sure. Use them all the time while fishing. I got tired of the split ring poking the tender meat under the thumbnail.:shades:
I was thinking it would suck to have to make a mad dash for your life while laying in your hammock. No way i can ever ever get out of my hammock fast, at least not like being able to jump out of bed....
That is an option I am considering also.
I saw that one also. Thanks
Great Video. Lots of good info. I am going to have my son watch it too.
very nice! I like to add pulls to everything too.
I could not find that product on any website by Solo hunter. The website he gives in the video is no longer valid.
I did find it with a little research. Here is the link if any one wants it.

No one has ever been attacked at one of the remote cabins up there that I know of. I was all hung-ho before i started talking to family members. They put the seed of doubt in my head. Reading stories...
I just might have to buy me some!
That alarm is awesome. I am going to buy that for sure. I just might sleep a little better!
Cool idea bit we are limited to 75lbs of gear per person. I...
