The Essex Chain of Lakes in the Adks is a good option, Mandatory portage to start seems to help decrease volume. There were a couple campsite locations that seemed almost unused.
Ah ok, I’ve done some hiking down that way but no camping. It did seem like there were some good options in the Catskills, I’m just more familiar with options in the Adirondacks.
Some fun options in the Pharoah Wilderness Area, between Ticonderoga and Schroon Lake in NY.
If you’d like some specific suggestions let me know… I have numerous other options in the Adk… but...

We started at the trail head by Gilbert tract ski trail just east of town. Camping at great spot near Cedar Rock Flow the first night....
How much does it weigh? -nevermind double checked the web link and saw it the second time... 25oz packed weight.
