There are a few pretty good ones within an hour from the city if ur still lookin. pm if u r. I'm in FoCo so I have been down there a "few" times :)
Oh yeah, for sure. I have been up there many times as I'm in Fort Collins and almost anything in Roosevelt NF is going to cater to hammocking. I've hung on rocks in the boulder fields in a pinch, so...
True that, that's why we are looking to go up north, so we can maximize how much difference we can get in landscape
Hey everyone!
So a group of 5-6 Senior(in High School)guys want to go on an awesome trip after graduation, mostly hammocking. We live in Northern Colorado and are willing to take a 10 hour max...

Is a basic square or rectangle tarp any good? are there any good configurations that could work with a hammock
So what does everybody generally hang on their ridgeline? what is the best use of that overhead space?
Whasssap! Good to see another Colorado Hanger! A few of us are in NoCo, Denver and Fort Collins and we love to see newcomers.

Nice, these are good guys!
Thanks Bullock, good stuff!
Same, I don't think I made my question very clear. For you, are there any songs that encapsulate the feeling of hammocking on a sunny day and a delicious drink?
I think I should clarify, You're not actually camping. Just hanging out in a hammock with a drink imagining you are in your favorite place. Like, if you could encapsulate the feeling a hammock gives...
Whassup Hammock community,
Hammocking deserves a special kind of atmosphere, don't you think? the world kind of fades away when you are encased in a suspended cocoon of rocking fabric. It changes...
Thank you all!
So, I have atlas straps that I hang with. I find it difficult sometimes to effectively rig a tarp as I usually put the ridgeline above the straps on the trees. This usually makes the tarp hang quite...
I would agree with what has been said. With Blacks, you should be okay if you adhere to the general rules about bear safety. Have a deterrent, hang away from smellables, bring a dog. If there is any...
I don't live there but up by the border near lake koocanusa is one of my favorite places on earth. It's gorgeous and I would be willing to bet you could find a few trails up there!
The best time by far is middle of July, it's gonna get pretty frosty in sept. But hey, no mosquitoes. I will compile all my info and get it to you as soon as I can get everything together. Feel free...
Thats awesome! Thanks to all of you!
Alright, thanks anyway!
Alright here it is. Stainless Steel, just sharpened and cleaned. As you can see, there are many different things that can be done with the handle, whether to increase grip comfort or usability in a...

The longest Loop I have been on up there is 18 miles, but I could send you a map with all the routes and some personal notes and tips if you want. You have to climb Mitchells Nipple while u are up...
In bear territory, you can get some nice solar powered electric fences for backpacking. Those things will keep most critters out. just watch where you pee in the night.
costco quilt is $20, i probably should have mentioned that.
Are there any vids or articles on how to hang a tarp with atlas straps because I like the ease of the straps but the tarp can be a little bit tricky sometimes.
bubba and mancub were a couple of the nicknames my family used to switch between. It's also my gmail account name and I was 13 when I made it. Still looking to be blessed with a proper trail name...
You could always go for the DIY costco UQ. Its pretty great and you can do some great customizing if you can work your way around a sewing machine. PM me if u need some tips! or just look in the DIY...
I have always used a pair of Eno Atlas straps. They work great when I don't need a tarp but most of the time I do need one. So I've been wondering what kinds of cord I should get to support 240 lb.+...
I have a pretty nice knife I can customize for you in exchange for the bean, interested? I can send you pics if you are.

I'm also a dab hand with making custom alcohol stoves and stands that are compact and efficient. I would love to trade if you're interested!
awesome, sorry you'll miss this one. I don't do things on Sunday other than being at church and being with my family, so all trips you will see me on will be weekend or school break trips. Sounds...
My idea is that we get as many people as possible over to the Ansel Watrous camp ground. It's a great place for overnighters, right up the Poudre Canyon. I've had quite a few nice trips there. It's...

Anybody thinking of any frozen butt hangs in CO? Maybe up poudre canyon? just an overnight hang to meet some new people and enjoy the weekend? I've been wanting to met some fellow hammock enthusiasts...
In my hammock for the fourth time ever a couple years ago and there was a coyote pack circling my hammock. It sounded like 5-6, but i didnt get out to look. I just clutched my knife and eventually...
