I was there all day Friday and left Saturday at 3 before the rain hit.

I look forward to seeing everyone.
As far as I know, it is not illegal in the Great State of Florida to hang a hammock in a state park. Welcome to the forum from North Florida.
Just got my ticket punched recently. Planning on taking a HT VHF/UHF and programming a few local repeaters in it to see how it works in the woods with a Signal Stick antenna on it.
Time to put the mud tires on the truck. :)
Perhaps, I don't mind the extra time.
I can give you a ride Karla. I live up in Jacksonville so I can route through Orlando to I95.
I was there Tues - Thurs but the weather turned nasty and a squirrel ate my spoon plus it was starting to get crowded so I bailed after 3 days. Enjoy your time in the woods.
I'm bringing my winter tarp this year.
I made a 13 footer from the Hyper D XL its 6 foot wide so the sides are rather floppy but it's extremely comfortable. The main problem is that it's too wide for anything but a custom made underquilt.
40 days to go.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. If you have the time, go to some hammock gatherings. There is a great group of people that hang out on a regular basis in S.C., Palmetto State Hangers and there is a...
Did you ever get out there to see how it fared?
Fairly basic. Oatmeal and coffee in the morning, trail pizza or a peanut butter, granola tortilla wrap for lunch and freeze dried meals for dinner.
For the last few years I have hiked solo into Hidden Pond and spend the last week of the year there. Traditionally the day after Christmas to New Year Eve Day. For me it's a time of reflection,...
Not sure If I'm going to be there. I have an appointment with the chiropractor later today. We'll have to see how I feel after.
PSH Fall Sprawl is a blast. I'll be there also. Coming from Jax.
I was one of the fortunate one's at Hangcon this year that was able to buy a Jacks R Better 20F Mt Washington 3 underquilt. Being that I live in Florida it doesn't get much use but when I do find...
I'll see ya'll Thursday late afternoon.
I'm right handed and sleep with my head right, feet left or sometimes I sleep on my left side but never side sleep on my right.
Does anyone know if Hammock Gear or any of the tarp makers are having a Labor Day Sale? I'm looking for a new 12' dcf tarp.
I have one of their ridgeline organizers and love it. Very well made. They were at Fall Sprawl last year and Hangcon this year. I had quite a bit of time to chat with them. The owner is a great...
Have you looked on Etsy?
Any interest in this really nice pack?
My thread injector chose me. A find of mine knew I was interested in getting a machine and gave me a Singer 404 is perfect shape. 65 years old and runs fantastic. We're both children of the 50's.
It's a large. I'm 6' 200lbs. It's a $340 pack so $200 is a pretty good deal.
Lighjtly used Osprey Atmos 65 pack. I decided to upgrade to a ULA so I'm selling this one. $200

Larkshead a couple of cotton shoe laces on.
Thanks everyone.
I'm getting ready to make a netless 11' hammock from Monolight 1.5. Do most people cut the selvage off before doing the rolled hem on the sides or leave it on?
OK so the 12' Hyper D 1.6 XL I had found it's way back to me. My buddy decided he liked tents better. I'm not sure he's right in the head, lol. Anyway, I have a netless 12' Hyper D XL with a...
190715 I recently did a section hike along the Suwannee River and the 1st day it rained so I had to throw my hammock, which normally rides in the sleeping bag compartment of my pack, in a trash bag...
I wound up pulling the trigger on a 12' DCF tarp as well. Been wanting one for a long time and this seemed like the right time to do it.
This trail is on my agenda for November but I'll be thru hiking it over 10 days.
I've owned a netless Monolight 1.0 hammock and at 190lbs, the material was too light and the stretch would give me a bad case of shoulder squeeze. I had Jason at Walhalla Hammocks make me a netted...
I have an over cover for my Pinnacle 360. It's vented on both sides at the peak so condensation is not a real problem. It's a great winter hammock but too heavy for the summer heat in Florida.
Therein lies the problem, I own multiple hammocks netless and netted, a pair of tarps, quilts and a couple of packs. Snake skins out of mesh sounds appealing though.
Congratulations Henrik
A friend of mine gave me a beautiful, fully functional and wonderfully maintained, 1958 Singer Slant needle 404 thread injector. I have never sewn a thing in my life, where do I start? I was...
Greetings from Jacksonville. Lots of great places to hang here in N. Fl.
A few of us brought chairs. It's a flat trail and only 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 mile hike in.
Hammock Gear currently has a 25% off sale on their silpoly tarps.
Not cloud 1.4 but I have a Monolight 1.5 hammock and love it.
Just spliced my 1st adjustable suspension for my under hammock gear sling and all I can say is 1.75mm Lash it is a pain in the rear. I used a floral wire since my hook and latch was too big and...
Entered. Thank you
Excellent, you'll love em. I know I love my Heatseeker top quilt.
Thank you Juan for putting this trip together. I had a great, relaxing time and I finally got to see the sink hole. It looked like something straight out of a Jurassic Park movie.
It rained Saturday night but otherwise the weather was perfect. Thanks for saving my spot which turned out to be where we all camped. Nice meeting you and your husband.
I'm going to hike in Thursday. I should be at the trail head by 4 and at the pond by 5:30-6.
