Mid thirties is were I switch out my 40 degree Wookie. That's about where i find the limit of my comfort rating with it. I feel the heavier underquilts seem to stretch further past their rating...
Love, love watching the snow fall from the hammock! There is nothing like the quiet whisper of flakes hitting the tarp.
30", high sustained winds, heavy spindrift, eh, not so much.
I was...

Econ Burrow 20 degree, 2 oz overstuff
About 4 liters appears to be the max limit and something I wouldn't recommend.

8 liter stuff sack reduced to about 7 liters is reasonable.

I have a Thunderfly - Olive Brown, Silpoly, 11' with pullouts. Used 2-3 times, excellent condition. $105
Payment received, item sold
PM sent with info
It was purchased Nov 2018. It has the bars on the outside and zippered doors on both sides. In addition, there is a pad zipper. I don't believe there were any other updates since then.
This is exactly what I do. I keep the cord with mitten hooks for side pullouts in my ridgeline organizer until needed and have short shock cord loops attached to the pullouts that can be used for a...
Price reduced - $95
I use shock cord hooks and reflective cord. Works okay. I use enough cord to tie doors together or connect around the end trees.
Welcome from the northern side of the Valley! My kid keeps pestering me to hike the Lehigh Gap section again because she thinks it's fun.
My reference to lock in pertains to the directional lay. If I decide I prefer the other direction, I will need to buy another one.
Also, I am about six foot and if I move my leg as rweb82...
I think this is a pretty good summarization. Buying a Wookie will lock you into a specialized piece of equipment with it's pros and cons. I have Incubators and Wookies, 40 - 0 degrees. I pretty much...
$100 - Spindrift Sock - 2 doors - with pad zipper option - Charcoal Grey
Used 3-4 times, excellent condition

I have had two Superflys and one Thunderfly. Here would be my preferences on your selections.
-11' is a solid choice
-Prefer silpoly for all my tarps.
-Since going center pole, I never use my...
I use dollar store tags. This way I don't mark up the stuff sacks if I want to sell anything.
Pardon the penmanship, my parents were convinced I was destined to be a Dr. They may have been...
I use a Superfly with the center internal pole mod the most. It works really well for me. Even so, I still get tarps with external pullouts. I had a medium size tree take out part of my tarp during...
Split ridgeline with wasps on each end. Fleaz on stakes.
I'm planning on 1 oz overstuff if I get a Diamondback. With the higher 950 down fill I would definitely get a little since it's pretty wispy. The way I think of overstuff is to help give a quilt some...
This was my approach. The 30 may be too cool for the lows and too hot for the summer highs. I would get a solid 20 that's warm for the shoulder seasons and take something light for the dead heat of...
Here's some more for comparison. I imagine the 40 degree Incubator would be close to the 0 degree Wookie in stuff size. All quilts in the picture were at medium to high compression. The cuben bag on...
Welcome from the Lehigh Valley! Just spent this weekend enjoying our AT rock pile...
I just mean that I end up pushing the ridgeline organizer around a lot compared to the shelf that I lob things into. It's like a big bucket to put stuff in on the side. Now I have been know to use...
I really like the shelf as the go to stuff it spot for the hammock. Lots of room without being in the way like a ridgeline organizer. One reason I bring the bugnet in winter is because I would miss...
WBRR DL, with net, evergreen. Used only a couple times, excellent condition $165. Does not come with straps and I've modified the suspension with Dutch biners to use with my Beetle buckles. I can...
HG Econ Incubator 0 degree used maybe 3 times, excellent condition. $185 including shipping.

Yeah this is me too. After work I need to get some fresh air, and that doesn't involve the Internet in any capacity.
Hammocking... are we perhaps at the end of the beginning?
Have any kids or other convenient helpers?
"Hey, go set dad's hammock up"
I use an 11' superfly with center pole mod for me and the kid with a spreader bar. It's not bad but you won't be able to close the doors. We've been in rain with no issues but not really bad storms....
I have the original one zipper version of the UQP and usually just use the ribbon ties. It hangs low but doesn't touch the ground. Adjusting where you tie the ends helps with excessive sag. Since I...
I have a Ghost pepper 20 with draft collar and a 40 without. I haven't missed it on the 40 and have used it down to high 30's. If you like the option and don't mind the extra cost or slight weight...
With the blackbird, I find having the head end a good amount lower helps prevent any neck flex and positions your body best. Now, I am 6' so I have 2 less inches to deal with. I keep my feet right...
I have both 0 and 20 degree wookies. As long as the cord is secured on the head end and the rubber band on the foot is knotted properly, they are pretty much set it and forget. You actually only have...
I had an olive silpoly superfly that was taken out by a falling branch. Currently using the camo one and like it very much. I wholeheartedly recommend them. the center pole mod is totally worth it as...
Welcome! From a little north and east of you in the valley.
Sharing my own personal hammock pillow journey for others enjoyment:
None - No need for a pillow in a hammock, that's silly and unnecessary weight.
Bunched up puffy/random clothes - hmmm, I...
I splurged on the SensorPush. I thought I'd miss the readout screen but it's small and simple to clip to my CL or ridgeline. It seems accurate and in line with my other temp sensors. Haven't had it...
a solid 20 degree TQ is worth it. My 40 is nice for lighter weight and less bulk but the 20 is the work horse for me. I hate sleeping in a pile of clothes and prefer a high lofting down cocoon when...
This is an area of paranoia for me. The last thing I do before my first sit-down is check both beetles to confirm they are attached properly. When rushing, it is certainly easy enough to only attach...
Hey I have one of those! Mine didn't work so well when it got below -5 so I moved to a different thermometer.
Looking forward to hearing how it went.

The mitten hook with the shock cord wasn't bad but I use a nite ize #2 for the centerpole. One end through loop sewn into ridgeline and the other to pole. Easy and fast.
I have one of those and like the concept a lot. It just ends up being too lumpy for me no matter how I stuff it.
I have both and greatly prefer the internal center pole. Better wind resistance, only one pole to deal with and overall easier to use.
I have a Superfly with a factory center pole mod and would say something is needed to secure the top of the pole, be it a tie on the ridge line or cords run to each end. The length of pole you use as...
Sorry to hear that. I really abuse mine and haven't had any rips on any of them. Thanks for the note of caution.
