Happened to me too on the 13’er. I’d rather the ring break than the tarp rip. Thanks for reminding me to get a new split ring!

The RR works fine on the Tato, but do hook straight to the triangles instead of the dogbones to reduce the total length.
Way better than an RV! [emoji12]

I have a TATO and a RR.
A 13’ tarp will absolutely not fit on the stand.
The RR on a TATO is already pretty borderline, it’s just a tiny bit too short to get a perfect hang. I’ve spent about...
See you all there! Bringing the wife this time around - she’s never slept the night in a hammock before and has never snow camped. This ought to be exciting!

Was this a false alarm?

Enjoy! That’s my favorite combination yet for comfort and ease.
I prefer the Netless wide over either of my Chameleons and maybe more than my Ridgerunner. The New River is easier to setup and...
It’s not a problem. Recently flew to Hawaii with my hammock / suspension in carryon. [emoji106]

I love that blue - I pondered color choices for nearly a week before I ordered on in that same color, excited for mine to arrive now!
Perfect time to check in on the old HF - I’ll see you all there!
I plan on arriving to the site around 1-2pm Friday.

Absolutely. I have both standard and wide chameleon and much prefer the wide. I’m 6’3”. My favorite for comfort is still the original Dutch netless wide.

Unless you hike a LOT or are into ultralight I wouldn’t bother paying the extra for premium quilts. The econs are great, save you a ton of money, and are only 7-8 ounce heavier. I love my HG Econ...
Dutch biners - I’ll take it!

I’m 99% sure that the Wookiee can be used on any gathered end hammock.

Oregon native here - plenty of trees to choose from, just make sure you get long tree straps. ;-)
Get the quilt, you won’t regret it. The Arrowhead Equipment Long River is a great synthetic...
Have fun everyone. Unfortunately I’ll be out of town that weekend. I’m hoping for something later this summer. Enjoy!

I bought a wide version after 9 months with the standard width. I find the wide to be WAY more comfortable for me and my UQ fits just fine. I’m about 6’3” / 200lbs if that makes a difference to you. ...
I have always had earth tones for my gear to blend in but recently bought a bright red hammock, blue under quilt, and an orange top quilt. I’m still just as camouflaged because my tarp covers it all....
Yes please

6’3” here and I regret not getting a wide. I also have a Dutch netless wide which I find much more comfortable for me. I might sell my standard chameleon here and reorder a wide version to replace...
Just wanted to drop this link about wolves on Mt Hood (I had a conversation with someone around the fire about this).

Maztrain - are you rigging up your poly tarp for the fire again this year? That was sweet!

Happy to have you! It should be a great time. BTW this is last year's post - you should find the thread for 2018 Yeti Hang instead ;-)

I'll be there with my 15 y/o daughter.

Is it the weekend yet?

I'm sorry you aren't able to make it and for your families loss.

I'm bringing one gallon per person per day.

Thanks for the tip! Looks like a light "dusting" of snow.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fingers crossed for snow! It's difficult to know until you get up there since government camp is reporting only 5 inches and the temp could be anywhere from 20*-50*. Timberline Lodge only has 54" of...
Is it really only 1/4 mile? I'm I THAT out of shape?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Snowshoes aren't need to get in, but a pulk definitely helps if you're carrying in firewood and water - otherwise you'll have to make multiple trips. It's about 1-2 miles on a relatively flat path...
Just the snow park is needed.

Hey Maz - you bringing your dog again?

It's going to be awesome - can't wait!
My 15 y/o daughter requested to join me this year so I'm bringing her along. It was a great excuse for buying a new set of insulation [emoji12]

You can buy them at Government Camp - that's where I bought mine last year.

I agree.

Thanks for organizing this again this year Maz! Sounds great!

Yeah, I was slightly bummed about the paint flaking, but after several months I realize it's purely cosmetic. It doesn't bother me anymore and would prefer peeling paint to a higher price tag...
To answer a few questions:
* The stand (not the kit) is solid black. Not like the silver unfinished photos on Dutch's site. I wish they were anodized, but they are basically spray painted....
I love this thing!

I think much of the emphasis about storing down uncompressed is greatly exaggerated. While I would recommend storing it uncompressed, it's not nearly as damaging as people suggest.
My evidence?...
I'd love to do another group hang near Mt. Hood. We did the Yeti hang in January (February maybe?) at Frog Lake and it was awesome!

Yes, the complete stand, not the kit which they used to offer. It is pretty light considering. Definitely lighter than conduit. That's probably the reason for the differences in experiences. I...
Of course - you can't setup the hammock without the top rail. ;-)
Maybe you're a lot more coordinated than I am :-p
