sigh. troll much? I just wanted an opinion on the Z1 vs the m series that he used to own.
Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk
sorry, didn't mean to do anything. I am in the market for a small travel cpap but I'm still not sure if the quality will be the same as I am used to.
Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk
what is your gut telling you? will the Z1 live as long as an m series?

has amyone here used the talentcell battery in post #1 with an M series respironics? Im wondering if it still recommended. If so, I'm buying one asap.
TIA

Expensive or homemade Under quiĺts can be avoided by using a spare sleeping bag under your hammock. Either pick up some tarp anchors or use the classic pebble and a rope trick.

On a side note, im looking into a different approach. I'm going to test my vehicle alternator's ability to bulk charge my batteries. Hopefully i will be able to make a general statement like 1hr...
Just wanted to update you on my progress, or lack of progress.

As long as there are walls, fences and trees, there are going to people creating hangs without a ridge pole. Most of the time, it will be safe.
But if you already have a turtledog stand, and you...
Glad you are ok and still with us. Ill bet that your widow maker radar is going to be working overtime for a while.

Use a ridge pole and stay safe.
Just saying theres a simple solution here.

It is always tempting to grab the ridge pole. I know i've caught myself doing it a few times.
I wasnt grabbing the pipe at the time of failiure, but you are absolutely correct, i may have damaged...
....OR..... i compensate by getting a stronger pipe.
Perhaps both? Ie the next size of pipe with a better set up.

I think a perfect set up should look like this....https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170627/5b29bb208c6104e7a18342b1fcc5bfb5.jpg

Btw, does anyone have experience with solidworks? A mechanical stress simulation on a pipe should be easy to repeat over and over again.

I pushed them together then duct taped them. I don't believe that they came apart but wont argue with anyone that thinks that is the problem. Regardless, a split/clamp sounds like a good idea. Either...

With my steel pipe, i only used a tree strap ( no rope) . I passed the carabiner through an eyelet bolt on the pipe, plus the tree strap as well. This should prevent the pipe from falling off the...
Here's a close up of what i ussually do.
The caribiner hooks onto the tree strap as well as several wraps of red rope.
The overall knot is positioned below the center of the tripod

Thanks for the feedback. Im going to try one more time but this time go back to a 10 foot metal pole which will make my hang droopier.but i already know im comforyable at 10 feetm

Last weekend i used the same set up and tree strap strategy except i replaced the wooden ridge pole with a 1.5 inch OD chain link fence pipe. It was 12 feet long ( I ADD AN EXTRA 2 FEET TO MY HANG)....
Sorry. But ill try to describe mysetup.
Here's my wooden set up. I've used it a dozen time or more already. I take some tree straps, wrap them over the top of the tripod. The tree strap drops...
I switched from a 2x3 wooden ridge pole ( turtledog stand) to a metal fencing pipe. It worked great for 1 night. I woke up in the morning and sat sideways in it while putting my sock and shoes on....
Yep. Mine is a double wide (6'6") and about 120 inches long from carabiner to carabiner.

A turtle dog stand is safe, yet walls, trees and posts have been known to kill people.
If you build your hang with a ridge pole borrowed from a turtle dog design, you can rest well and safely.

However, the length of the pole, the angle of my hang, the length of my hammock, and the condition of the wood all play a factor.
