When I first started out and had to make this decision I used the side I sleep on. I lay on my right side and wanted to bug net on my face side so I could see/breath out. Seemed to be the correct...
I've lately been hiking with my now 1 year old pup and this was her first longer multi-day backpacking trip. She is a Boston Terrier so perfect for HAMMOCK SNUGGLESSS! Considered one of the more...
Haha yea, it's the best solution for me as a side sleeper (other than sleeping with just my head out of a top cover) A frost bib doesn't work for me.
Absolutely! So nice to just stop and enjoy the quiet of the woods under a blanket of snow.
Thanks!! Hope to do another trip with you again sir!!
This is the longest thread about Harriman ever haha. Between this and the Sintax video, I hope it doesn't get over loved.
Thanks sir! Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks for watching!
They are so much fun! There's a sweet spot in temperature between 0-20f when the snow/air is dry and fluffy vs wet and sticky, but at the same time not to stupid cold that your fingers start to sting...
It's just cut down the middle and goes over like a head band. Got the idea from someone on a HF fb thread but can't find it to thank them!
Man I really want to get up to Minnesota and do some proper cold weather camping. Looks like so much fun!
My friends and I set out on a 20 mile loop around the Pharaoh Lakes Wilderness in the Adirondacks. We started at Crane Pond Rd Trailhead with a -4 temps. Finally cold enough to use my RBH VaprThrm...
Loving this fabric so far! Doesn't stretch a ton and seems to pack down as much as other hammock fabrics. So light!

Just purchased a netless .71 . That weight may actually get me to sleep without a top cover in winter :D
Hot tent is fun, sleeping on the ground is not :)

Sounds good. Love the cave area.
Awesome! Stockbridge sounds great, but up for anything! See you there!
Totally. I would have spent most of this morning digging out the Corolla at the trailhead. Wind and snow still blowing in Brooklyn!
ooff so true. I used a Duraflame in my hot tent stove for the first time while car camping thinking it would be an easy way to burn it in. Despite what the package says, it does not burn cleaner...
I'm regretting staying at home now! It's so lovely out!
Yea, have used it a couple times, still tweaking it/learning to not hate sleeping on the ground :) Would like to test it during a snow storm, but Friday being a cold night will also be fun.
haha yea, I'm mostly concerned about getting back to Brooklyn on Thursday if I go tomorrow. I think the roads will be clear by Friday and may end up going then as well. Playing with a hot tent ;o)
Are you still thinking of going? Been going back and forth deciding to go tomorrow or not. I would join if you want company!
Yea they weren't that bad. Trail maintenance has probably stopped for the year but still only a few blow downs! Thanks for watching!!!
Ha yea, definitely added some distance. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed :)
My friend and I spent 6 days hiking the 100 Mile Wilderness in Maine. We had mostly good weather except for very heavy rain one night which caused the rivers to rise like crazy and the last day. ...
I like a top cover, however I have found that when it gets into the teens the condensation starts happening. I started sleeping with my head out and the rest of my body under the top cover. That has...
It sure was. Not as grand as the presidential range for sure, but so many less people. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!!!
Thanks for the kind words! The weather was great. It...
Going SOBO it was pretty dry after Unknown Pond. After Cabot if you go down Bunnell Notch Trail about a 1/4 mile, there will be a small brook on the right that you climb down to and then again at...
Had a good few days in the woods hiking the Kilkenny Ridge Trail in the White Mountains. This is the northern most section of the Whites and less crowded which made for a very relaxing trip. ...
Thanks!
Thanks for watching!!
Ha I was in fact surprised at the pre-mapped vs recorded miles. Thanks for watching!
Haha I know I'm not the only one that feels good when they get that strap adjustment correct. Obviously what you didn't see is the finite adjustments before that sweet spot :-) I did have great...
Thanks for watching!
From what I saw online, it looked like it was open. I was ready to continue on if not, but a few others I saw confirmed it was the first day of it being open.
Thanks for watching!! Definitely try to make it to the Whites if you can!
Had a great few days doing a relaxing hike in the Pemigewasset Wilderness. The goal was to explore the wilderness I overlook when I do a traditional "Pemi Loop". Didn't see many people, was pretty...
Feel free to tell me to take this down if videos are not welcome, but I figure it's a hammock load-out, with I hope some good info and someone might benefit from it!

Agreed!!!
Hey all!
I make it a point not to post every trip video on here, but I thought this one was special. Found a local spot that I could actually camp at and it turned out to be a perfect spot with...
Yay!!!! Thanks for watching :-)
This is part 1 of our Northville Placid Trail thru-hike in the Adirondacks. I was glad to have an intergrated bug net on this one :)
Day 1: Northern Terminus to Ouluska Shelter, 17 Miles
Day 2:...
Canon g7x Mark II for the camera. Debating whether to bring it to film my Northville Placid Trail thru-hike in a few weeks. I like having a real camera for shorter trips, but will probably try to...
Thanks for watching! I'll definitely be working on minimizing unnecessary footage as I learn what is fun to record/watch. Haha I also find myself skipping through long videos and often just to the...
This is my first attempt at a trip report video. Lots of mumbling and wind noise, but some pretty scenery and the mumbling gets better as I become more comfortable with the camera :D
I had a rough...
Gave a 5 star BBB review! Dutchware responds so quick and always very helpful. If there are any issues the RMA process is one of the easiest and least frustrating experiences I've encountered....
I have the standard cf and I smile every time I set it up :-) Probably my favorite piece of gear. You'll forget about the price soon enough, well worth it.
I like this method for tarp doors. Shock cord and mitten hooks. Simple and works great. https://youtu.be/zphVe1V8GCg
I tried tying a clove hitch around the shock cord and hook with 1.75mm zing-it. Worked great!
