I agree, I have a Darien I've spent many nights in, and it is still the best night's sleep I've ever had outside. No issues, it's held up very well, and I hope to use it for many years to come!

Yeah...I sadly had already ruled out bringing the light saber. I've heard they are very effective on grizzlies at short range, but I'll have to rely on the Force alone...
Has anyone ever tried to get a hammock and straps through airport security in your carry-on? I can't find anything on the TSA website that forbids it (and if you are bored someday take a look at some...
We have two Snugpak Underquilts in the family (and a Hammock Gear Incubator), and I'm really interested in trying this modification on our Snugpaks. My main question is are the shock cords on each...
Benchmark Outfitters, Kenwood Road, Blue Ash stocked that book last time I was there (last summer). I was surprised to see it in stock anywhere.
I ordered mine directly from his website and got...
The ranger told me the biggest issue with creeks in the Wayne is heavy metals which I'm pretty sure your standard Sawyer won't do anything about. And, sometimes the standing water you see at Wildcat...

After a life of car camping and day hiking, I finally at age 56 combined the two and began backpacking with a hammock system two years ago. I love every minute of it and want to go as often as...
I hate to butt in on this thread, but I was cruising the forums and came across this discussion. I live in Athens County and I've considered Wildcat Hollow several times and always cross it off my...
Just curious, how do you keep the Zing It attached to the stakes? I've seen people drill holes in the stakes but if there's a way to avoid that I'm all for it. I'm not much on knots, and I'm quickly...
My son and I hit Zaleski on a weekend back in September, walked in on Saturday, did the south loop and then ended up at the north campground (near point P on the new map). 13 miles and we were...
My wife tells me she is NEVER sleeping outside again voluntarily, so when I go, I'm on my own. I'm still trying to decide if that's an asset or a liability...lol.
I've been an avid day hiker for many years, and used to car/tent camp when my boys were growing up (and my wife was willing). I caught the backpacking bug a couple of years ago when a friend of mine...
