Nice Idea! I use mule tape/becket and this would work perfect for the dangling excess. Sew the hair tie in loop of tag end and do as you did for the whoopee.

I have been contemplating this same setup on a DIY of mine. xtrekker showed this technique in one of his videos.
Was kind of curious about that with a wide hammock whether it would create a "bathtub".
Looks good! What is the finished width and what width noseeum did you use?
Thanks for the info
The zipper doesn't run all the way around hammock body?
I saw this on instagram. Takedown frame. Super cool!
Looks sweet! I just finished up a Epsilon 1.55 digital woodland. Going to add a bug net to it. How did you turn the corner for the zipper at one end? I like the looks of the hoods at each end. Did...
This is what I also did on my Hexon 1.0. Super simple!

I also recommend LSoH. Waiting on my Edge to arrive. James super easy to work with.
Did you say meow...........?
If you have a local hardware store near by, they should have the wire in bulk and you can buy some by the foot.
No problem. This setup meets my needs to a tee. Best part, zero cost to me. Might thin out the "blade" a bit more. Its about an 1/8" now. Time to break out the persuader.
Nice James! "gear testing" is always a good time!
Home Depot has these relatively cheap http://www.homedepot.com/p/Weller-100-Watt-140-Watt-Soldering-Gun-Kit-8200PKS/100085564
Here's a link to what I has been using. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/133053-VIDEO-DIY-Hot-Knife-Fabric-Cutter?highlight=weller
My Dad had one of these and I rigged it per the...
Sooo, did this trip happen?
Excellent! Thanks for all the info regarding my order.
Just put my order in for a Warrior Edge!
The DH Sparrow are asymmetrical and think it helps with the floppy fabric. Curious about the symmetrical hammocks as well. Thanks for input
There is a twin to yours in MT. Made mine last week. That Dark olive is a nice, usually use gray. Needed a new color.
Nice! Robic 1.7?
Anyone out there in forumland using an integrated bugnet hammock utilizing the wide xl fabrics?
Is there a lot floppy frabic to deal with?
This is an excellent idea! Not just for the kids, but for myself as well. Have my phone with me as well to take pics/vids while out.
Nice work michigandave! The list you compiled has been super informative. Just pickd up a Tree Runner and will soon follow it up with the Trail Lair. Just need to decide on which fabric. Go light or...
I just did a mule tape dye job. I used Rit Dyemore for synthetics. Used Graphite color. Dyed mule tape per the instructions on bottle. They turned out a steely blue when dried. Way better than the...
I stand corrected.......check out the hammock in Shug's video:

I second that! Super sweet set up!
Make sure you use a thicker walled shaft. Made some toggles out of some 2312s, they got crushed at the knot. 2219s :thumbup1:
Been going back and forth on the camo for the next hammock. I think the camo hammocks look pretty sharp, but you end up covering it with an under quilt. Kinda kills the effect, unless you have a camo...
Slow down!! I decide to utilize your innovations and you improve on it!!! Keep up the ideas!
That's one sweet setup! Nice work
Thanks everyone for the input, going ahead with the 1.7 Robic.

Ordered some 1.7 yesterday! Will start with the hammock and eventually it might morph into an integrated bugnet version
Tac, what did you use for the whipping knot?
Gray, would complement the orange well. My preferred color combo. Placed order for some today
Looking forward to these straps. Super simple and multiple uses as well. Another winner Dutch!
I'm glad you posted this. Had this thought this morning as well. Wasn't sure if this would work or not. There might be some concern with the double loop popping off. Could add a "fisherman's" knot...
Thoughts are brewing........Replace the continuous loop using the improved knot loop, ucr lark'd to that and lark'd to the tree strap.
I'm at this point for my next hammock. Wavering back and forth on the integrated net. I've fielded some suggestions and the consensus is the XL material should take care of the need for your...
How easy is it to release the larks head after it has been under a load?
Keep it going! Been following the progress of your videos about suspension. I like the no hardware idea. :thumbup1:
Going to give the 1.7 a try. Thx for your input everyone
Found the table at Joann's http://www.joann.com/homespun-gidget-cabinet-sewing-table-6701/9628728.html#start=1
