I gave it a once over each morning and the only evidence of condensation I found was a minor bit around my foot area after the second night. This can probably be attributed to the fact that I was...
I know the Amok is a bit of a love / hate situation with the hammock crowd, but whether you're truly curious, or just want to poke some fun at it - here's some testing I did with the Draumr XL, Amok...
I had a blast! Thank you to all of the fun and knowledgeable people who made me feel right at home even though this was my very first hammock hang. I'm definitely looking forward to doing another...
Yeah, I should probably invest in the Winter Palace version of my HG tarp one of these years. I've already got synthetic options in those dimensions, but it's always so hard to swap out my 5 oz...
Yeah, I kind of wish I had given it a quick look as well, but I already felt like I was meandering a bit to the extremes of my time limits that day, haha. Seems like cs 95, as well as cs 93 in the...
3 days of Winter Hammock Camping, Backpacking & Hiking in the Smoky Mountains.
This was essentially a Gregory Bald loop Hike, incorporating campsite 13 Sheep Pen Gap, campsite 113 Birch Spring...

Hey, everybody. I recently got my hands on Hammock Gear's new zippered hammock and did a vid for anyone interested in getting a closer look at it. Features, specs, etc. I was really excited to hear...
Sounds like an awesome start to me. Congrats and welcome to world of hammocks :D I've heard great things about that Superior Hiking Trail. At 20ish hours though, the drive is just a wee bit and...
Thanks, TrailSlug. You'll probably discover this after a some cursory research, but I should point out that the more popular / traditional choice to approach Standing Indian Mountain is via the...
Hi, everybody. Here's a little 3 day, 2 night trip I did on the Standing Indian Loop down in North Carolina's Nanatahala National Forest earlier this month.

Hey everybody out there in hammock land. I figured this might be worth sharing over here on HF, particularly on this sub-forum.

Basically just a run down of...
Thankfully, I haven't had any moisture issues at all. I usually sleep with the vent on whichever side my head is towards, but other than that I don't really do anything else to combat moisture. I...
Hey, everybody. I haven't poked my head up over here in a while, and I thought this video might be worth posting for some conversation. I originally purchased a Dutch Winter Sock as a way to...
Someone asked me recently for advice on which items to invest in first for transitioning into hammock camping. I made a video response with my own personal experiences, but I figured it would make...
For anyone on the fence about taking the plunge with an HG Cuben Fiber Tarp, here's a vid bringing up some common debates, pros and cons of various options for Hammock Gear's Cuben Hex tarps, along...
Hi Everybody,
For anyone interested in seeing what the Double Dutch and Bird's Nest bugnet systems look like when fully loaded with a wife and a dog, here's a video of them both in action. I...
I just took a look at that on their website. It looks pretty nice in terms of versatility and weight as well. It might be a contender, indeed. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks, Sqidmark. That's some very useful info and a really nice looking rig you've got there!
Thanks, I forgot about that tarp. I'm going to gave to check it out. This system has made me look at tarps in a new way. Until now, I never really thought much about the fact that all of my "real"...
We're currently checking out our options, so I'll post an update or take it on a trip vid at some point. Sara doesn't mess around with winter camping though, so we've got a couple of months to...

Here's a look at Dutch's Double Chameleon using his spreader bar and the new Beetle Buckles to hang two Chameleons side by side from a single set of trees.
Thanks, Dutch. I figured the the HG cuben hex might be a bit of a stretch, especially since even with just a single hammock, it can be a bit cramped for two people trying to do chores etc while...
I'm planning to test it with both my standard width HG Hex Tarp as well as my 10'x12' Hennessey tarp, which would be similar in size to the HG cuben winter palace for reference.
Pleased to virtually meet'cha ;)
I'd create a Kickstarter just to see that happen in your next vid.
Us too - we're hoping to take them out for a spin this weekend, weather permitting. I figure part two will focus primarily on the double hanging function.
The two pieces slide together to form a single bar that goes at the head end only. I don't know about the weight rating, but if it has Dutch's name on it, I'm going to guess it's rated for at least...

Warning: Not for the faint of heart - we're going deep with this one. ;)
But if you really want to geek out on the Chameleon, or maybe you're just...
Yup, I went though just about the same exact process, only with aluminum cinch buckles, which he doesn't advise with Kevlar anymore either. I was successfully using the titanium cinch buckles (also...
Ouch - Shots fired!
They have some pics of some ground configs on their kickstarter page that probably take advantage of them a bit, but I'm guessing that some sort of future door attachment kit may have a lot to do...
Why wife just did this exact setup on a trip down in VA this past weekend. Crazy light and worked like a charm.
Well, that's what I figured the first time, but somehow it still failed at second location even further down the body after a few more uses, so I think I may have pushed my luck with this one enough...
Sadly, I managed to rip my red PolyD 1.2 as well. My only guess is that I may have inadvertently pinched the wire tie inside the channel with the loops that I larks headed on there, and perhaps that...
No problem. Yeah, the fabric made a pretty decent impact of the weight. Luckily, it still packs down pretty similar, so bulk isn't bad.
Was it my video by chance? I have an Incubator 40 made with a heavier weight Epsilon 1.5 multicam outer layer that weighs around 19oz. If you go with Argon 67, you'll be a couple ounces lighter and...
P Chang and DanglingModifier pretty much described exactly what I went through as well. I was originally overwhelmed by all the options too. Even the thought of picking out a separate tarp and...
Awesome, thanks man. Sounds like the new stuff will be basically same weight, just with less stretch. Nice.
Just curious - what's the weight per ounce on the Argon Sil that you use for the pack covers? I love mine, it's crazy light but still managed to survive a pretty rough fall that I took on some solid...
I'll go ahead and confess as well. I just placed an order for myself last week (kevlar is a necessity, right?). Today, I placed an order for my wife. I mean, just because she didn't know she...
Yeah, that chart must be referring to to total loops per pair. My buddy has the Atlas, which are very similar to my Python straps, and there's no way there are 30 loops on there. I would have...
Nice to hear - I haven't had a chance to run this system yet, but that's exactly the situation I was thinking of when I went this route. I figure I can always just leave the Adutchables at max...
Yes, I got that too. Appears to just be a certificate issue on the mobile version of the site (is this new by the way?). When I forced my phone to visit the desktop site, and ignore the redirect to...
I recently picked up some kevlar tree huggers to to use with my contraband 1.0 Speed Hooks and Adutchable clips. Previously, I had rigged up some 4' tree straps with with this system, since the sewn...
Excellent point. I'd be interested to know this as well.
One other thing on the tree huggers - the extra loop can prevent threading through certain types of hardware as well (i.e. Adutchable Clips), in which case a strap with one open end is the way to go.
I got the Cuben without doors and went with the 12 foot ridge line, even though my hammock is only 10 foot. I sat through some rain showers with my previous Hennessy Hex tarp that made me really...
Ahh, yes - now that I can totally understand. In that case, get your tie on and enjoy the upcoming research!
I know you said that you wanted to avoid having to worry about any additional hardware, but if you really wanted to stick with a minimalist strap system, but without the headache of stuck knots, I...
