Smørrebrød is very delicious! You gotta try "dyrelægens natmad" (the vets late night snack) or a "stjerneskud" (shooting star) then... 😄👌
See you soon!
Looking forward to meeting you! Fingers crossed for some nice weather and some cozy campfires
I've had the pleasure to test the Draumr Double for a while, before the launch. You don't have to coordinate exits or entries at all.
Of course there will be a change in the weight distribution, but...
This is how I used to make my "Wooki style" under quilts to accommodate the issue with loose fabric
https://youtu.be/3EYtqTyqWHs
What's the fun in that??
 I'm not that tall at all, only 5,9 ft... The trick is to hang low enough and to raise the foot end a bit. That way you move the center of gravity forward.
Some find the Draumrs a bit unstable, but with some practice it's not bad at all... 😉

Thank you so much! It works just perfect.
Thanks a lot! I was pretty pleased my self - and so were the folks that bought one
I used to make the Twister underquilts (similar to the Wooki). I made a bungee solution to the quilts for a snug fit.
You can see it here:

I own all of the above mentioned hammocks. The Draumr is by far the best for side sleeping!
I personally find the XL to be the most comfortable in the Draumr lineup. (I'm 180 cm tall) The head...
I have switched to a longer ridgeline on my newer HH's. The older models are approximately 17 cm longer (0.57 feet), which I find to be much more comfortable.
It's a pretty easy fix to get a more...
It blocks the wind just like a regular bug net would - maybe a bit more... but definitely not as much as the regular 5.0.
I find it sufficient enough though.
The ventilation part seems to work fine...
Thank you very much! I appreciate it.
The fabric is a bit more slippery in general, but I definitely don't think it's a major issue. If you can handle an ordinary Draumr, then you'll be just fine...
Yep.. There's no difference in comfort. it's really just the bug net an the zipper, that has been changed.

I've also written a review on my blog: http://fimbuloutdoors.blogspot.com/2021/03/amok-draumr-50-og-draumr-ultralight.html
It's in danish, but there's a translator on...
Here's my take on a Wooki style uq. I make a "knotty mod" on the sides to give a tighter fit.

That would be awesome. We're having the next official group hang (winter hangout), the first weekend in February. We've booked a large campsite and a huge teepee with a firepit in it, just in case...

I just wrapped once on mine. Works fine [emoji1303]

Thanks [emoji1303] It's a great hobby that really brings people together.

Oh yes, we sure did! We hope to break the record at our winter hangout (if possible due to the COVID-19 restrictions)

This weekend I participated in the annual summer gathering. Due to the COVID-19 situation the event had been postponed.
Now things fell into place and 33 hammockers + guests, were able to meet in a...
I have changed the ridgelines on several HH's. The newer models have a much shorter ridgeline than the older ones.
I have made mine 15-17 centimeters longer than the stock ones. I haven't had any...
There's nothing to it. Just remove the "sock" from the hammock ends, untie the stock rope, thread the whoopies through the "socks" and larks head them to the strop on the hammock... Easy as pie.
I use the Becket hitch on most of my Hennessy Hammocks. Never failed on me. The trick is to push the loop downwards a bit, before you pull the rope out.
I made this short video a few years ago -...
I won the DD XL in a competition once, didn't like it and sold it. I think it's much too short and way too wide... The poles make it want to tip over...
I have quite a few HH in my pile of...
Sure is a nice piece of kit! I can't help feeling a little jealous...
Thanks Tikker, I usually use a top quilt, but was asked how to get in a sleeping bag, the easiest way. That's why I made that small film...

Glad it worked out for you.
I have used a poncho liner on top of the ocf pad, with great success. The "stickiness" of the pad, helps keeping extra insulation in place. If placed under the pad, it...
I have tried different methods, but must conclude that my back and arms are getting sweaty, no matter what...

You do tend to get sweaty. I don't use the Amok on a warm and sunny day, because I'm getting soaked. The materials are not very breathable, but it's fine at night when temps drop.
Ha ha, well the film was ment as a respond to some of my readers of my blog (also in danish).
I have never experienced any slippage. Been doing it that way for years...
Cheers!

Regarding the Becket hitch, I simply tie it with the suspension rope. Just like this https://youtu.be/tgyO2JnHE7g
Come on!!! You had some bad luck, your hammock got injured.
Suck it up, it can never be Amok's fault...
I've experimented with some possibilities to expand the temperature limit of the Fjøl pad.
The easiest way I found, was to put an extra self inflatable pad on top of the Fjøl, inside the pad pocket....
It really helps with the center of gravity, to put the hammock almost in chair mode, when side entering.
Can't help it. Hammocks does that to me... ;)
Yes, not much different! I am an avid user of the Ridgerunner too...
Ha ha thanks, I've got a lot of practice with hammocks... Good luck and a happy hang to you!
Thanks Didrik
Here's a small clip showing how I prefer to enter the XL model, with bug net deployed and a stick inserted at the foot end.

I find it pretty easy to enter from one of the sides. I grab a hold of the fabric behind me and pull the hammock under my butt... sit down and swing my legs up. The process is easiest with the...
You're welcome SupraLance. I stille have the hammock, but I haven't measured the size difference i the layers. I don't think you could use down in between though... I think it will be compressed too...
WAUW!! What an epic trip. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds like the new 4Season Explorer from Hennessy. The outer layer is over sized, to accommodate extra insulation.
See my review here:...
You won't be able to get full benefit of the hammock tieouts. A "Wooki-style" uq is much better for HH.
Feel free to check out my Fimbul Twister UQ, made for HH...
