weekend Bump
I am selling my HG Burrow and Incubator 0*, both with 2 oz overfill. Color is black in and out. I bought these 2-3 years ago and only used about 3 nights in the wood. I haven't found much use for it...
looks good and I like the color.
pretty sure parachute nylon are rated to 400lbs. Company like ENO and grand trunk makes parachute nylon hammocks that rated to 400 lbs. I think they are like 2.0 ripstop nylon or something do that...
I have been using Zing-it for couple years, but recently made a switch to reflect-it from dutchware and so far, I like the reflective property at night.
I would use the same material of the area by cutting a circle and then use silicone seam sealer to bond it together. That's how I did with my rectangular tarp when there was a hole in it.
Wow what a great job on the sewing. Great improvement. I just made an 11' hex tarp with cat cut over the weekend as well, and my sewing on the cat cut is same as your first picture, all twisty. It...
Mine is not the PU4000, so I assume I use silnet silicon seam sealer right? not the SeamGrip.
Question for those that have done the 0.9 Membrane Tarp Corner Reinforcement. From Ripstop by the Roll, they recommend to seam seal the same material on the corner as reinforcement but doesn't sew...
so useful. Awesome!
this would be great.
cool, I'll try hanging on the wall idea.
After using 12' exclusively for about a year, I can say that I don't like 12' ridgeline at all, and I am planning to make a new 11' Hex tarp. With 12' ridge line tarp, I was limited to where I can...
I have sewed a tarp before but I haven't done one with Cat cut. I am planning to do a hex tarp, and this time I want to do it with cat cut. I was wondering what is the most efficient way to draw a...
I have a HG Incubator 0 with 2oz overfill that I bought on Aug/15, but only used for 2-3 night at most. I live in Northern VA, and it doesn't get cold enough around here to use it. Length is short,...
I used to use Massdrop, but stopped doing it because the price saving is not huge and you have to wait a long time for the item. Not worth it for me.
I either wear a balaclava or wool beanie and pull it down right above my nose.
there is no picture!
too bad, no one on this forum sew thou, we only thread inject.
I made 12' Rectangular tarp, and it weight in at 17.5 oz including 10 ties out and seam sealed.
this is good idea, but how do I attach the 2 loops to cinch buckle system?
Can't wait for the dragonscale one. Looks great from those samples.
that looks really nice, do you have pic of matching underquilt?
Not sure where I should post this under, but I've been camping fairly decent amount of time using Grand Trunk Parachute Hammock vs Dutch 11' Hexon 1.0 Hammock both with 83% ridgeline. Anyway I've...
that chair UQ is very clever, good, warm, light, cheap, instead of thermarest sitpad.
that looks really good. I like the contrasting color blue/gold
I need 11' one, 12' is wayyyy too big and hard to find good spot for it.
I checked last week at Costco in Springfield, VA and nothing. I'll try again in couple weeks.
Nice work! I didn't taper mine either so I can use it as blanket from time to time
you could just cut it, rolled hem the edge, and then whip it.
great job, looks nice
KAM snap off ebay are really nice. Depends on seller you can order color you want.
I'm looking to get 1 more, eyeing RBTR Robic XL fabric.
looks great
You got 2 options and I did both. 1. Cut all the seams and then grab the downs out that way, this will take longer from cutting the seams but it will be less messy. I did this way first and just...
Made myself 20* TQ and UQ for 3 season. Tested it out in 17* weather and it worked. I was wearing fleece and down jacket like I always do in cold weather. I was worry my UQ might not up to the job...
very nice. August is mid summer so just in time!
awesome!
When is the next generation of colors coming in? I saw website says 3/23? Planning to order couple red, but looking for black color.
how long did it take you to seem rip everything? Any is there a technique to speed it up?
been waiting for these like forever. Want to get myself a couple pair and some fabric for tarp before the spring time.
so what seam seal should I use with this? initially I was going to use silicone permatext sealant but now I'm not 100% sure since previous description on the page says it was silicone coated and now...
hmm. I bought tarp kit from you with Membrane silpoly from you last week. Does that mean its PU4000?
Couple questions. 1. On website it says Membrane silpoly is 1.03 oz/sq yard, but you showed .93? And 2. I don't see Membrane silpoly PU4000 on your website?
awesome job! I see more and more ppl doing Karo step design, any reason why you prefer this method? Is it better in term of insulation than traditional horizontal design?
Catenary cut is a design or the type of cut for the tarp (slightly curved on the perimeter). It is not a type of fabric like cuben or silnylon.
I know people said that cat cut is for tight pitch when rain since silnylon absorb water, but does cat cut helps cut the winds?
I was debating this color scheme vs brick red/black argon, but after seeing this, I am going to go with this color combination. How is the material as far as softness and handling when sewing?
how much was the total weight of the down that you harvested? Did you weight it? I have 4 Costco throws and I am planning to get all the down out of them and make 20-30* TQ and UQ. Looking like about...
