West coast hanger here. Any dyneema or uhmwpe straps for Becket hitch suspension has been my favorite. I carry 15 foot straps and if there are real big trees I bring whoopies for some extra length....
This is what I eventually went with. You should check it out. Came in at around 10 oz. Paired with a 50 degree Yeti. Incredibly light insulation system for the summer.
Yes Kent I also have a left lay with my feet to the left. I unzipped and flipped the net on my XLC immediately upon receiving it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
I received my cloud 1.4 hammock today. It did have quite a bit of static electricity when I first set it up in the middle of the day. Later in the evening there was no static electricity at all.

Thank you outandback, yeah the diy sub seems active. I should dust off the sewing machine.
I believe the Warbonnet underquilt protector zips on to the hammock. So if you were really worried about mosquitoes that could help. Agree with everyone else though on the permethrin.

Haha thanks Shug and everybody for making me feel welcome.
Thanks Crazytown. Yeah I wish I knew what happened to that Jansport. It just kind of vanished. I am planning to be more active in the forums.
Thanks Phantom. You are prolific in the forums. I have been researching posts about length and width of hammocks and you always make an appearance. Thank you for your contributions
This is my first time posting a new thread, and long time lurker. I have been lurking for many years and always felt I had nothing of value to add to the discussion. The forums are a little slower so...
Alright I ordered one from Dutch and will be back with my amateur first impressions
I am also interested in this fabric. Has anyone tried it yet?

Is this for a previous year?
I haven't tried it yet, but one of those giant sponges for washing your car has been recommended in the ultralight backpacking community. Worth a shot for how inexpensive they are.
I only have one hammock so it's definitely that one. Looking forward to the next hang.
Just ordered an El Dorado with coupon code. Pretty sweet deal
