The idea with the knot was so you can cinch up one side relative to the other to offset if you want. Just looping it though it evens out on both sides. That was my thought anyway.

A couple more photos of how I’ve set it up. But it’s totally unclear how you are “supposed” to do it as the Cumulus video shows only a loop using one bit of cord.

Perhaps this video https://youtu.be/Kk__LuSIoeE. At 1 min 48 sec you can see the cord through the hoops.

I believe Cumulus designed it to only use the cord through line locs at either...
There’s a very active Facebook group, Wild Camping UK, which shows plenty are doing it in England and Wales (I understand Scotland has similar right to roam rights as here in Sweden).
It must be stretch on the straps. I had a similar issue if you look at my update today on my thread about a 9 m (29 ft) span - the hammock sank a foot or more using some very cheap daisy chain...
Reporting back. I first decided to try a couple of eye bolts either side on the inside of the window frame with the idea to hang the suspension in a triangle out the window. But there wasn’t enough...
Don't mosquitos find their way past an underquilt or underquilt protector (it's not sealed tight, right)?
Thanks for all the ideas. The Tato stand and Tensa stands look good. Issue here is availability in Sweden. All the stands you can buy just seem to be for recreational use, with not too much thought...
Yes, I’ve been thinking about that option too over the weekend. Either a 2x4 or steel tube (round or square section). Wanted to do some bending strength calculations. I’m a mechanical engineer but...
Yep, it’s a sofa bed which is the second bed in my tiny apartment. Not a bad one actually. But nice to have the hammock option :)
It’s an old building so the ceilings are nearly 10 ft high, and around 12 ft relative to the outside ground level. Distance and angles are on the diagram, using the ultimate hang calculator. Yes not...
Hello all, hoping to get some input on my plan to hang a hammock in the yard space for occasional hanging (not permanent).
I live in an city centre apartment (I guess a condo is the closest US...
Welcome Telefonkatalogen!
Have to agree with the sentiments - Norway, especially the west coast is amazing. I’m often in Norway for work (not nowadays obviously and people from Sweden are not too...

Here’s the indoor hang after annoying the neighbours by drilling some holes in the wall :)
Thank you. I’ve got the heat reflecting bubble pad that goes between the hammock layers. I’m going try some practice hangs in the yard as I’m intrigued to know how cold I can use it down to. I also...
Hello from Sweden. Actually I’m native British but been living in Sweden for 12 years. Been researching hammocks as it looks like a fun and different way to enjoy the outdoors. My girlfriend and I...
Looking for dyneema cord did indeed just lead me down a rabbit hole on diameter, breaking strength, weight/foot, sk78 vs sk whatever, strands, etc. Anyway, I think I found some from a Swedish...
In terms of protecting the tarp and someone mentioned ‘baskets’ for the handle end also, it made me think of my Tarptent that has material baskets for the handle and tip end of hiking poles to make...
Very kind offer but I suspect postage to Sweden is a bit much ;)
Thanks for the tip! Learning about new options all the time :)
Thanks everyone, that’s helped clear things up for me. I’m trying to consider the best options for a two hammock hang with spreader bar, lightweight, but with versatility for short or long distance...
Hello all, newby here lurking around trying to figure this stuff out. I’m sure I’ll come with many more questions but this one is about suspension. We backpack, hence looking at lightweight options....
