Dutchette Vickence Thanks! We are super excited for our first home. We will for sure be at the Spring MAHHA!

Squeaker and I were hoping to be able to make it, since Spring was cancelled! Sadly (only because we are going to miss MAHHA) we are closing on a house the week before, so all my weekends for the...
Took us 10 days. Could have done it in 9, but took a couple slower days due to a a blister that my brother developed.
I’m hoping to get back and hike it again in the not too distant future.
...
Not in the slightest. My brother and I did it SOBO several years ago. Every lean-too location has plenty of trees, we also camped at some non-lean too locations (Rainbow Dam, on Lake Namakanta). It...
I actually got myself a Chameleon right after Christmas and an awesome Loco Libre UQ, and have passed my hammock setup on to Squeaker! Thanks for thinking of us Vicki!

Squeaker and I are hoping to make it again this Spring! She had a blast at our first hang in the Fall. Waiting to find out my wife’s schedule around then, because she usually takes her 4th grade...
Squeaker and I are planning to do a little hiking. Not sure how far her little 5yo legs will go, but she’s excited to do some more AT miles! We’ll be heading out shortly, and should arrive around...
Absolutely do. Will bring her hammock, and also our tent, just incase she has other desires. She’s a fickle 5 year old. [emoji23]

My daughter will be super excited to hear this. [emoji3590]

You are all so awesome! If nothing else, I’ll give her my UQ and jerry-rig a sleeping bag as a UQ for my setup. (Or just revert back to my HH sleeping pad if needed.)

I do have a spare set of straps, but she only has her own little lounging hammock. I’ve had it on the list to make/get her a camping setup, it’s just been back burner.
Made her a down TQ earlier...
Her and I talked about this extensively. She wants to hang, but doesn’t want to sleep with me. Since I’ve only got one setup, I am bringing our tent too, just in case! [emoji23]

I’m getting stoked for this. And all the raffle items are just making me even more excited!!!

She's a diehard LittleFoot fan too. If LittleFoot does it, she wants to do it! :D
Count me and my munchkin in! Our first MAHHA, and her first legit hammock trip. Looking forward to meeting everyone!!
Anyone in the Eastern PA area do any hammocking and fly fishing in tandem? Looking to shake off years (15) of fly rust and get back into it. Figured why not combine it with my other favorite thing,...
Okay....this is pretty awesome! Great way to solve the problem, and create a little "family space" in the middle! Hope once my little ones are older and want to hang with dad, I remember this post...
You mean I don't have to mine for naturally occurring Amsteel and Dutch Bling?? But that just takes all the fun out of it for me!!
Welcome from SE PA. Would love to do the thru-hike...but it likely wont be a possibility until retirement. Unfortunately, by the time I am able to retire...the retirement age will be 350 years...
This looks like a great hike! I'd assume there are plenty of places to (legally) hang? May have to take a closer look at this one!
Welcome from SE PA. I'm not that far from the AT...but sadly life has not afforded me the time to "take a hike". One of these days though.......
Not a bad fix though. Probably quicker than readjusting the hang points, depending on your set-up.
In that last image, you can see the start of this thread on the screen of the tablet. Are you sure we aren't getting sucked into the Matrix now?
If I still lugged a laptop around to and from...
Cat cuts aren't that difficult. biggest tip is to just take your time, and let the machine do its thing. Don't try to force the fabric, and don't try to pull it through (though a little tension is...
Ripstop by the roll has some great info/instructions for tarps. But essentially, it's that simple. Hem the ridge, hem the edges, add tie-outs. Down and dirty.
You guys are awesome! Lemme know when you get Hunter Tartan plaid, and I'll have me some new snake skins
So back to the RL length discussion. All finger guns aside, I used the UH Calculator yesterday to hang my finished DIY 11' hammock, 108" fixed RL. Based on the input, I was told to set the anchors...
This is probably the most accurate thing I have ever read!

The excitement oozes from his post. Or he just enjoys yelling?
Either way, welcome from SE PA!
This looks great Kit! Once I get a few sleeps in my set-up, I may have to lobby the comptroller to release fundage for this as the next project!
Got the chance to hang the finished product today, and test her out? Super comfy, and the netting is perfect! Just gotta find that sweet-spot for hanging, so the ridge line stays somewhat taught. ...
Kit, your corners/hems are so much nicer than mine...but I went for functional vs. aesthetics! Haha
Sawg: this was my first time using a thread injector in about 17 years. It was extremely easy,...
What I gather from your misfortune, is to hold on the the excess bug netting I just trimmed off my DIY hammock, in case I too have this problem occur! I shall fold it and store it away for that sad...
+1 to this also
Did this once...and my neighbor's granddaughter fake shot me before I even got to lay in my hammock. So be careful who you draw your finger gun around. You might not make it!

Finally done with my DL HH clone and pre-cut Hex12 tarp from RSBTR! Gotta say, I'm impressed with the whole set-up. ...
I actually made mine by making 7" square and cutting on the diagonal. Worked out perfectly!

Finally got mine up! Love it! Just need to get a better ridgeline. FYI, masons line is horrible! ( but it's what I had laying...
Mine took me about 6-8 hours (working mostly at night). Don't know about others....but I had a hell of a time trying to stitch the HD300 to the Silpoly with out creating bunching. Found out that...
Haha! Well played!

Looks great. Finished mine the other day...but while trying to set it up, my 2 yo decided it was better to try and run through/climb it. So I nixed set-up until I have time without her wonderful...
I'd have to agree with Goat here. Anything I've ever DYI'd has been for the shear point that it is something I've don't myself. I am also an avid home brewer, and have cloned several well known...
I've apparently hit a mental block, and cannot seem to finagle my way around it.
The body of my DIY double layer HH clone is complete, and I quick threw a ridgeline on it to give it a test lay. I...
Squeaker is the nickname I gave my daughter (now 2 years old) her first nights after she was born...because all she did was squeak. Turtle is what she is certain her little sibling will be when it...
Looks great! Just finishes my std Hex 12 but RBTR, but my wife has no thread injector experience, so I was on my own! Haha
Finished my silpoly hex12 tarp yesterday night, and the main body of my double layer DIY today (still need to do the bug netting). My word is this thing comfy!! My blanks were 130x68 when I started,...
