Here where I Am, the Mosquitos will carry you away. I use a Bug net that covers the entire hammock. Mostly I guess because I dont have one with the bug net attached. Would a full on bug net work...

Ditto on the Scrap pieces. Attempt making some kind of open ended "pocket" at first. Simple stuff with scraps. Who knows where you end up from there.

I carry a poncho liner and put it over the top quilt. My top quilt has the tie out points for the sleeping pad which I then tie the poncho liner to those.
