Right on, thanks for that. BTW, I see you're in MO. Same here. In my earlier pics in this thread, the one with the tarp was across the river in Shawnee Nat'l Forest and the one without the tarp was...

Wouldn't have thought of that, but it makes sense. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the perspective, I'll def be shortening that ridgeline. I know my too tight suspension is at least partially due to site selection. I'll make more of an effort to find trees closer...
Thanks, I'll try that shorter ridgeline. Getting the straps higher isn't really an option. I'm a short guy, only 5'7". In the picture without the tarp, I literally climbed about 3 feet off the ground...
I didn't make the hammock myself, it was built by someone I met through facebook. It seems like he does good work, so I don't think there's any inherent design flaws. I'm using 1" dyneema webbing...
It's 58". The Robic XL at 68" wide seemed like overkill so I had it built a little narrower. Maybe that wasn't the right call

Excellent, thanks! As far as sacks go, I think I'd prefer the snug fitting one. Take advantage of the smallness
Hi David,
Yes I would appreciate it if you would seam seal it. I tried to leave that in the comments of the ebay order, wasn't sure if the message made it or not. Thanks for asking!I'm really...
Looking forward to trying this tarp out! Pulled the trigger on it this morning. I was looking for something that is small and light that I can use when the weather is fair. I've got a Superfly for...
Welcome from another Missouri noob. Just had my first hang this weekend. Definitely a great time. Lots of great places to explore around here (and luckily, no shortage of trees to hang from!)
Hi all,
I've been lurking around here for a while, finally joined up last night after returning from my first hang! It was a solo trip, and lots of tips I picked up checking out the forums here...
