I deleted about 20 inbox/sent messages but it still says it's full.
You have reached your stored private message quota and cannot send any further messages until space has been created.
I suppose I can clear out the entire thing, but I'm kind of a hoarder I guess.
Did your Donating Member status recently expire? When it happens your message limit drops.
Couple of things to check
As Otter1 suggests check your DM status. Non DM have a lot less storage
Also, clear out your sent folder. This is the most common reason I have seen for people running out of space.
Oh it’s the donation. I figured it didn’t expire yet because I could still see the off-topic section. In the past that never even showed up, so that’s a change new to me.

Yea, it seems buggy.
I was able to view the section for weeks after my sub ran out. Then, I could view on phone but not PC. Now I re-subbed (out of fear of missing one of the 4 posts/year lol) and the section doesn't always show without clicking the "subscribe to view" link.
It's not just Inbox on the count. It's ALL. So delete some from Sent also.
