I never thought much about it until I mentioned a few of these things and got the impression that they thought I was making it up ;~)
Ha, give me a minute ;)

Someone said they cannot see the pictures in my gallery. They wondered if it was because they were not a donating member.
Hoping someone will check it out for me.
If you click on my name here on HF, you should see the option to view profile.
When you go there, you should be able to open my gallery by clicking on Gallery.

Maybe that's why he can't access my gallery.
Slowhike.. I always love the old history threads.
When I use my gear, I often think of the hammock vendors and it still amazes me to know the first names of many of the vendors...in no particular order...Ed, Gary, Dutch, Brandon, Adam, Jacks, Paul(s), Misty, Marty, Randy, Shane, Tewa, Anne Marie, LeighLo, Derek, MacEntyre, Tato, MountainGoat, Kyle, George, Chris, etc, etc. Love that about this community. Its also fun to the read about the collaborations taking place in the early threads with folks like yourself and all those "old timers" that advanced the gear to where it is today. People today may not realize it but Knotty mods, Blackbishop bags, Grizz beaks and other ideas are named after people on here that inspired or came up with the ideas.
Here's the links to a couple of the threads you mentioned.. fun to look back at these.

Semi-related... I came across this old photo from 2Ply on a clear vinyl window mod to a Clark hammock.. Slowhike was asking a question about it.

SEARCH: You probably figured this out but....Here's a tip on finding some of those old threads. If you use the Advanced Search function on site webpage, put your name (Slowhike) in User Name Field... change it from Latest Posts (drop down) to Threads Started by... then change the Sort By option (further down the page) to be "Last Posting Date" and "Descending Order" . This will display threads you started back in 2006 (and beyond)
GALLERY: If you want to access the Gallery for a person, I recommend using the browser on your phone - pretty sure you also have to log into the site.
For Slowhike in particular, you might try this link:
SLOWHIKE's Gallery LINK
SLIDESHOW: Probably not often used.. but the Gallery does include an option to view the pics as a SlideShow.. you have to be in a browser for it to work. You can ORDER Images by Date Added, set the Sort Order to Ascending.. and change the Time Interval to 2 seconds.. you can then watch all the pics in a couple minutes.. kind of fun to see the random stuff. I recommend opening another browser window to add some music in the background while you enjoy the slide show... LINK
TallPaul, that is awesome!
So cool to see those old threads and names I haven't seen in years!
I'll be using the Advanced Search function to find more.
Many thanks!
And yes, I checked out 2Ply's clear window a bunch of times.
Thought about making one... even bought some clear plastic but never did.
Ha, yeah, I remember one of the few Trail Days I've been to, Brandon of War Bonnet hammocks showed up with some of his gear.
As far as I remember, no one knew anything about him until then.
I believe the Jacks saw his potential in his workmanship right off.

I'm having no luck finding a thread where I talked about the mesh snake skins.
I see where mountaingoat was selling them, back in 2011 I believe.
But I plainly remember talking about them and sharing my idea with Tom Hennesy at Trail Days.
Same as now, some like, some don't, and that's OK. Just an idea to share.
