Hello from Seattle
My husband and I have done a decent amount of backpacking but were tired of being unable to sleep on the backpacking sleeping pads. We just bought a Kammock Mantis UL to try out on a car camping trip (we each took a night in it) and are converts. We are now deciding what hammock to get as a second. I am a decent seamstress and I have taken on projects like baby carriers in the past so I am tempted to dive into making my own. I already made an underquilt with 2 of the Costco down blankets, the directions sent me down the rabbit hole to this forum. I know nothing about hammock materials and construction so I welcome any advice, I'll also be reading the forum to get ideas. I'm 5'4" 130 and he's 5'9" 205 if that influences recommendations.

Here’s a good place to get started: https://ripstopbytheroll.com/collect...y-hammock-kits
I made my first hammock a few weeks ago using the Monolite fabric. Very cool!

Hello from just north of Portland and welcome!! I've used https://www.seattlefabrics.com in the past to get my ripstop and tree strap material (this was a few years back) and they were great! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions while you create.
