FL > Ocala National Forest, Florida Trail > March 21-25, 2016

Hey all, I'm planning a trip to hike the Ocala National Forest on the Florida Trail from March 21-25. I have most details worked out but still unsure if I'm going North to South or South to North. I'll be calling the Buckman Lock attendant soon to see if someone will be there on the Friday I'm finishing up to make that determination.

My plans are to have my wife drop me off either Sunday night or Monday morning and get started. I'll also have her pick me up on Friday I'm planning on about 15 mile days but may shoot for longer depending on if anyone else comes. I welcome anyone that wants to join and we can work out more details then. Just planning on enjoying a week in the woods and relaxing (I know, 70 miles is relaxing!?!). Let me know if you want to join in.

A couple year ago I did from Clearwater lake to buck lake the first day. Then to hidden pond the 2nd day. That's 17 day one you could stop at Dora pond before buck lake for 2 miles shorter. Then just past juniper springs day 2.

I picked a terrible time to get a job.....with no vacation days :(:(

I would love to do an overnight with you of I can arrange it.

Who needs a job? I know what you mean, hard for me to get out during the school year. Which is why I'm shooting for spring break.

Lifescout, that is my plan so far. If you work it out let me know what day and I'll be on the lookout for you. Bringing the scouts? I'm trying to get my oldest to go, but he is saying no right now.

If I didn't already have a hike planned for the Foothills Trail then I'd come join you guys, I have a daughter and two grandkids in Tampa I need to see as well.

I'll have to check my schedule but there's a big possibility I could join assuming I could get off work. I have been looking at doing something similar, just haven't had the opportunity! Will definitely let you know though

Alright, an update. Looks like I'm going to be dropped off Sunday evening, 3/20, that way I can get up and get going first thing Monday. If anyone else wants to join I don't mind hanging around a bit if you are coming Monday, just let me know before Sunday.

Where are you getting dropped off at If you don't mind me asking.
