Good pics!!! How heavy is it?
The stand weighs approx 46 pounds. Give or take a couple ounces. It is very sturdy and has been weight tested for 500 pounds.
Better quality pics. As mentioned, this thing is STURDY. I still am playing with setups, but I'm pretty happy with the unit.

I tried out mine this weekend outside and inside garage. This stand is awesome. I love it. I placed the tarp over the stand it it was great. The 11 ft tarp(super fly) fit much better than the Tad Pole.
I assumed everyone have the same problem as i do. There are several paint chip(1cm) or so in diameter. Also the bag has a few cuts (1-2cm). This is all due to shipping damage. I don't blame anyone for this. It's part of the game. However, if Mommeck can find a matching paint and let us know, that'd be great.
I also have both of the same problems you pointed out. (paint chips, bag cuts)
I also think the stand is awesome.

I think the carrier hates delivering these things.... The box was dented pretty good on an end. You might stamp the boxes with "Heavy" or something to let them know when they try to lift, it will be heavy and might reduce some of the droppage. The good news is, my carry bag had zero damage... I also didn't have any chips...however, one of the top-ends of the legs were slightly bent-in so the endpiece didn't fit so I used an exhaust pipe spreader from my old car days and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the Great product. Two Thumbs UP!!!

I don't think there is much you can do about getting Fedex and/or UPS to be "Gentle". In a past life, I worked in a package development group for a large corp. The distribution centers for the carriers were setup with conveyors that were designed for speed and not gentleness. 2-3 foot drops were built into the system. We just had to design our packaging to survive. Of course, that is a lot easier for a corp with money to burn as opposed to the cottage industries we all love, where margins are likely much tighter.
That said, one possible idea that might work for this item is to slip a rubber washer around the end of each metal piece. That would provide a space between each piece without adding the bulk of bubble wrap. Just quick idea and I'm sure it can be improved on.
My bag came with no damage, but maybe bundle the stand without the bag? That way the shifting metal wouldn't be stressing the bag. You'd have to bundle the metal with strapping or bands of stretch wrap, though.
Ok, I'm done, and apologize for the unasked for advice! Love the stand and all the service Lori has provided.
The stands are powder coated not painted.
